History

The airline was established and started operations in 1969 as General Aviation Services in Jersey, Channel Islands.

The Air Atlantique name was adopted in June 1977 when charter flights were launched with Douglas DC-3 aircraft.

The airline moved to its present base in Coventry in December 1985.

Atlantic Airlines, which previously operated all airline activities for the Atlantic Holdings group (owners of Air Atlantique), was subject to a management buy-out in July 2004 and now operates as an independent company.
