Web Solutions is a web-design and applications division of Tehnicom Computers, Serbia. It specializes in website design, database-driven websites, bespoke web applications and B2B solutions.

Web Solutons was formed in 2007 and has quickly grown to a 9-person team delivering projects for major domestic and international firms.

History

Web Solutions opened for business in April 2007. The main catalyst for the formation of a specialized web division inside Tehnicom Computers was the formation of a joint venture – Riskmedia Solutions – with Riskpoint Limited, UK.

The aim of this joint-venture was to use Riskpoint’s expertise and contacts in the UK financial services market and Web Solutions’ team web skills to offer innovative web-based solutions to a wide range of financial industry and other firms.

Since inception, Riskmedia Solutions team has completed a number of high-level websites and applications. All current and completed projects involve at least some integration of front-end (website) and back-end (applications) functionality. Examples include news portals, association websites with member-only content, multilingual sites with online B2B interfaces and others. In the domestic market, Web Solutions has already provided its services to some of the major firms and organizations in the country and the wider region: OMV, MPC Holding, Večernje Novosti, Arena Beograd, Voda Vrnjci, Megastores Electronica, European Expert Group.

• About Riskpoint Limited

Riskpoint Limited, formed in 2003, is a financial risk management consultancy offering expertise in all strategic and operational aspects of quantitative risk management. Its projects focus on quantitative analysis, programming expertise and general advice in risk management, mathematical finance, data analysis and related fields. Clients include banks, insurance companies, hedge funds, brokers and other financial firms.

Since 2007, Riskpoint’s focus has been on delivering innovative, web-based business solutions to its client base through Riskmedia Solutions – a joint venture with Tehnicom Computers. In addition to ever improving technical features, web-based applications provide ideal solutions to many of Riskpoint’s clients’ operational risks: open source platform, secure access, disaster recovery etc.

Riskmedia’s applications already in live use include trading systems (FX and equity markets), underwriting (insurance/reinsurance markets), client and project management systems.

Services

Web Solutions department aims to cover the full life-cycle of services related to web-design and web-based applications: research, planning, development & implementation, user training, maintenance and consulting. Team expertise extends from pure graphical and web-design, web-programming to hardware specifications and advice.

• Web applications- a mainstay in Web Solutions offers: the team is headed by 2 senior developers, further assisted by Riskpoint’s UK staff.
• Graphical design- offering integrated visual identity to their clients is an important part of any project.
• Educational and technical support- as important as the initial work. Hardly any of their engagements ends after the initial delivery as most of their clients ask for upgrades and new work.

Content Management Applications (CMS software)

WS has developed own Content Management Applications -CMS application: Genera CMS. It has already been implemented on more that 20 of our sites, controlling all types of content: text, images/galleries, Flash animations, media files and other. Selected websites include Belgrade Arena (Serbia), TDI Group (Greece), MPC Holding (Serbia), IKSEL (Serbia), Mercata (Serbia), Megastores Electronica (Greece), Proactive Investors (UK).

Customer Relationship Management (CRM software)

Customer Relationship Management -CRM software is their latest application, currently in Beta phase. Expected launch for our first client (MPC Holdings, Serbia) is due in September 2008.

Key part of this development is a content access-control module and ability to control multiple user groups: based on these modules, they built an entirely bespoke application controlling some of the key business processes and activities inside MPC.

E-Commerce

Built on the same Genera platform, E-Commerce application has been implemented in a range of diverse projects: Megastores Electronica, Minotti Llc, BG Oxygen, Teatar Za.

E- Learning

Their first distance learning project was developed and launched for Austrian national oil company, OMV. It involved a wide range of services and expertise, from consulting, project specification and design, to programming and end-user training. This application has also been developed as part of Genera family.

Bespoke Business Applications

Their flexible Genera platform enables using to quickly assemble and deploying bespoke business applications for the clients – those not necessarily falling in any of the above categories. Through the joint venture with Riskpoint Limited, UK, they have assembled a range of web-related applications, most of which are already in use in live business environment.

Programming Platform

All their applications and products are developed in LAMP (Linux/Apache/ MySQL/PHP) platform: open source and universally supported it offers supremely flexible and powerful foundations for work.

Web Solutions’ main programming framework is CakePHP: acknowledged as PHP professionals’ choice, it allows rapid assemble large database-driven websites and develop suites of applications around them.
