The Pacific Investment Management Company, LLC (or PIMCO), a subsidiary of global insurer Allianz Group, is an investment company.

Products

PIMCO runs the Total Return fund, which is on of the world's largest bond funds, and about 70 other investment funds in various sectors.

The PIMCO Total Return fund, along with others, is managed by Bill Gross. As of March 31, 2005, it had $81.3 billion in assets and was the fifth largest mutual fund in the United States. As of March 31, 2005, PIMCO in total had $464 billion in assets under management, mostly in its bond funds. It began in 1971 with $12 million.
