Magneti-Marelli Holding S.p.A., a subsidiary of Fiat, is an Italian automotive design company, and producer of high-tech components and systems for the automotive industry.
Magneti Marelli has industrial and R&D facilities in: Italy, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Russia, Turkey, the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, China, Malaysia and South Africa.
In 2000, Fiat announced plans to sell Magneti-Marelli on a piecemeal basis, but has since decided to infuse the ailing auto parts maker with fresh capital. As part of a restructuring, the company has disposed of its lubricants, mechanical components, thermal systems, aftermarket, and chassis systems units. Magneti-Marelli's remaining operations include lighting, powertrain, exhaust, and suspension components.
