- Corruption: Mafia and corrupt police, Judicial system (torture, threats, forcing false confessions), prostitution profiteering symbiosis
- Police state: Full body armor gear
- Catholic elements: Irish IRA militia, crosses and church images troughout the film, sexual child abuse / pedofilia.
