Darin and I discuss his PHD in literature, cognitive theory, structuralism, anarchism, and collapse. The music you'll hear inlcudes the song "It's the Real Thing" from a 1970s Coca Cola commercial, Hussalonia's "Rossums Universal Ragtime Robots." A Piano Roll version of the Al Jolson's "Me and My Shadow," Zygmaunt Krauze's "The Star," a 1960s advertisement for Colt 45 malt liquor, the theme song for the movie the Burbs, an instrumental guitar version of the Beatles' "Strawberry Fields" forever, and Philip Glass's Geometery of Circles for Seasame Street.

The old saying “pouring oil on troubled waters” is a metaphor for bringing peace to a turbulent situation. Recent events in the Gulf of Mexico have proved the contrary, that oil poured (or spilled) upon seawater can produce the very antithesis of calm. After many weeks of concern, and with the long term threat of possible subsurface oil still strong, recent reports note that the oil slicks at the surface have become more difficult to find. What is happening? To be sure, dispersal over time is inevitable, but there may be more to the “vanishing” oil slicks.
What we perceive as the leakage of a toxic fuel into the ocean might be seen as an aliphatic feast by marine microbes. Quite a bit of literature describes the relationship that microbes have with oil (for a review, click here) and the possible role for such microbes in bioremediation of oil spills.
Burning off slicks. Source.
Researchers who investigated the aftermath of prior oil spills found that microbes can be involved in the amelioration of such accidents, acting as natural bioremediation agents, as we'd expect on Planet Microbe. Alkane-degrading microbes can in fact increase in population in response to petroleum contamination, as observed in studies ranging from Antarctica to Spain. However, such studies tend to focus on the impact of oil on shorelines instead of on the ocean surface itself. As I watched televised coverage of the spreading oil slicks in the Gulf, I recalled a short paper I had assigned to my latest microbiology class, which suggested that the very surface of the ocean itself could be thought of as an enormous, but very thin, biofilm. This short review by Cunliffe and Murrell credits the biological oceanographer John McN Sieburth with visualizing the air-sea interface as a gelatinous microlayer—a huge biofilm that may cover 70% of the Earth’s surface! (Click here to listen to an interview with Michael Cunliffe.)
A diagrammatic representation of the neuston including the bacterio-
neuston and TEP. Source.
The upper millimeter of the ocean with its inhabitants is referred to as the neuston, its clearly distinctive microbial communities as the bacterioneuston. These communities reflect the specific environmental and nutritional conditions to be found in that microlayer in marine, estuarine, or fresh water environments. Transparent exopolymer particles (TEPs) synthesized by primary producers form the “lattice” that appears to hold the bacterioneuston in place (see figure). TEPs can act as a food source as well as surfaces for microbial colonization, as they float upward and merge with the presumed surface biofilm.
One study found that the bacterioneuston, in contrast to the microbiota found half a meter below the surface, is dominated by two genera: Vibrio and Pseudoalteromonas. Both appear to be well adapted to life in a biofilm at a liquid-solid interface. It would be interesting to learn if mutants of such bacteria that are defective in biofilm formation on solid substrates are also impaired in their ability to colonize the neuston.
The recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico obviously is relevant to this topic. Just as “fertilization” of areas where oil reaches the shore can accelerate bioremediation by supporting luxuriant microbial growth (including alkane degraders), it would be no surprise to learn that the bacterioneuston in the area of the oil spill has undergone a change in population structure and function while taking advantage of the oil as an unexpected source of energy and carbon. I am quite certain that microbiologists are investigating this, and I look forward to learning how the Gulf bacterioneuston responds over time. While an oil spill can cause great damage, it may also yield insights into how marine microbial ecology responds to abrupt change, particularly change precipitated by human actions.
Philosophically, it is awe inspiring to think of the entire surface of the oceans as a nearly two-dimensional biofilm spanning the globe, a world apart from the water column beneath. This floating world beckons to us to explore the population structure of the marine bacterioneuston living therein. With the knowledge gained, we may be able to assist Nature in what we perceive as the natural “clean up” processes that are the microbial world’s response to nutritional and environmental change.
In his novel, Solaris, the late science fiction writer Stanislaus Lem described a world-spanning ocean that was itself sentient. I am not prepared to go quite that far with this concept of a thin, ocean-spanning biofilm, even though microbial communication surely takes place therein. Nevertheless, this concept certainly has made me look at the expression of pouring oil on troubled waters in a new light. Perhaps we need a new aphorism for peace making, one that encourages the formation of robust surface biofilms to minimize disruptions!

(NaturalNews) It's a war zone out there! ... if you're an oil platform worker, anyway. Another oil rig, the Vermilion Oil Rig 380, has exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, just a few miles from the infamous Deepwater Horizon that started the massive volcano of oil that poisoned the Gulf this summer.
U.S. Coast Guard helicopters were immediately dispatched to the scene, where 13 workers were found floating (alive) in the water around the rig. The rig is reportedly on fire, but it is being reported by ABC News that the rig wasn't drilling for oil at the time of the explosion. No information explaining the cause of the explosion has yet surfaced.
One workers was apparently injured in the explosion. While it may be too early to know for sure, there are so far no reports of oil being spilled into the Gulf from the rig.
This second explosion naturally brings to mind the safety and reliability of offshore drilling platforms. In many ways the Deepwater Horizon incident was described as a fluke, a rare event that would likely not be repeated any time soon. To see another oil rig exploding just weeks later does not inspire confidence in the minds of Gulf Coast residents who have already been hit hard by the previous oil spill as well as the Corexit chemicals widely used as oil dispersants.
It raises the question that's now on everybody's mind: Could Deepwater Horizon happen again? If so, how can we improve the safety of offshore oil drilling? Or better yet, how can we replace that dangerous, dirty industry with clean, renewable energy sources that don't burst into flame when something goes wrong?
When wind turbines fail, they don't explode into great balls of fire that kill workers and destroy the environment.

(NaturalNews) The conventional U.S. food supply is no stranger to chemicals, pesticides, growth hormones and antibiotics. But a Michigan dairy has violated what minimal restrictions do exist concerning these additives by illegally selling antibiotic-ridden dairy cows to be processed for human consumption over the last eight years.
Scenic View Dairy of Hamilton, Mich., is currently the subject of a complaint filed by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) on behalf of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for selling beef that tested positive for illegal levels of neomycin, penicillin and sulfadimethoxine. The FDA is seeking a permanent injunction against the dairy for ignoring multiple warnings about the tainted meat.
According to reports, the FDA has warned Scenic View Dairy at least eight times since 2001 about unsafe levels of antibiotics in its beef, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has sent more than 11 letters concerning the issue as well. But the defendants have ignored all such warnings given between 2002 and 2010 and have continued to sell the beef anyway.
FDA regulations specify that in order to sell meat for human consumption, the animals have to be off antibiotics and other drugs for a certain period of time in order for the substances to clear from their systems. But Scenic View Dairy's three farms have allegedly been selling them off long before the proper time.
"One-half of all antibiotics in the United States are used in livestock--25 million pounds a year," explains D. Lindsey Berkson in her book Hormone Deception. "[A]ntibiotics can contribute to hormone-disruptor exposure as well as contribute to antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria."
It is unclear to what extent the tainted meat has affected the public, but the case is just one more reason for meat eaters to purchase only organic, grass-fed meat.

(NaturalNews) Some popular cough medicines and pain relievers could become available by prescription only if an independent panel determines that such action should be taken. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently issued a report about the dangers of dextromethorphan, a popular drug ingredient in many non-prescription cough and flu medicines, and is considering banning the drug from store shelves.
According to the report, dextromethorphan "is sought after by those seeking to alter their mental state" because it exerts a psychoactive effect on its users. Though the drug is abused less than codeine, another popular brain-altering drug, dextromethorphan sent roughly 8,000 people to the emergency room in 2008. This is nearly twice the amount it sent in 2004.
What typically occurs is people buy cough medicines and take many times the recommended dose in order to get high. The practice is popular particularly among teenagers, and overdosing on the drug can severely increase blood pressure and heart rate, and can also cause high fevers. And other drugs in cough medicines, such as acetaminophen, only exasperate the problem by bearing heavily on the liver.
If the panel decides to pull dextromethorphan from shelves, the effects will be widespread. Hundreds of different drugs, including Wyeth's Dimetapp, Bayer's Alka-Seltzer Flu Plus and Proctor and Gamble's Vicks cough medicines, all contain the drug, and would have to be either reformulated or sold through pharmacies.
Other options being considered include restricting the sale of medicines with dextromethorphan to only people 18 years of age and older, or simply placing such medicines behind the sale counter to discourage illegitimate buyers from seeking them. Either way, current laws will have to be updated to reflect any potential changes.

A new book from Peter Kingsley!!
Publisher blurb:
A Story Waiting to Pierce You:
Mongolia, Tibet and the Destiny of the Western World
by PETER KINGSLEY
Asheville, NC—Groundbreaking new research has revealed a very different origin for the western world than anything we have been led to believe. And what is most striking about these discoveries is that they not only tell us about our past—they also guide us to live a fuller and much richer life today.
A Story Waiting to Pierce You tells the true but forgotten story of extraordinary people who arrived in Europe over two thousand years ago from as far afield as Central Asia and Tibet. As if restoring a piece of artwork, Peter Kingsley uncovers the finest details of how these individuals helped to birth western civilization and guide its future. He takes us back to a time when our familiar conflicts between East and West had not yet been invented—when science and mysticism were inseparable parts of the single love for wisdom.
Many people in the whirlwind of modern life feel something essential is missing. Kingsley vividly explains how our growing sense, as individuals and as a culture, of having lost our way is due to the fact that we have forgotten our deepest roots. A Story Waiting to Pierce You offers remarkable insights into many facets of global history—including the early history of Native Americans, the sacred traditions of Tibetan Buddhism and shamanism, as well as the life and times of Genghis Khan. But above all it focuses on the astonishing origins and destiny of our own western world.
A Story Waiting to Pierce You: Mongolia, Tibet and the Destiny of the Western World (publication date Nov. 1, 2010) is the fourth book by internationally recognized author Peter Kingsley. To request an interview or speaking engagement, press kit, author tour information, or other information, please contact Nicolas Leon-Ruiz or Steve Crimi.
"A blazingly alive work of scholarship and spiritual insight"—Jacob Needleman, author, What is God? and The Heart of Philosophy
"The rich and dense scholarship in this book is admirable, nay incredible, with worldwide scope. Scholarly discussion depends on evidence—of which A Story Waiting to Pierce You offers the most surprising riches, combined with overwhelming expertise."—Walter Burkert, author, Greek Religion and Babylon, Memphis, Persepolis

If one were to apply contemporary principles of evaluation to the work of Peyton Rous in his time and without the benefit of hindsight, this work would certainly be assigned a low priority, not fundable, and probably also not publishable in the trendsetting journals that today alone can confer recognition and prestige. Even in 1966, the year of the [Nobel] prize, it was impossible to guess at the full significance of the Rous sarcoma virus for human medicine and biology…The urgent lesson from the Rous experience, then, should be that it is the quality of the science that counts, not its compliance with a fashionable trend and not its perceived future value, which cannot be predicted.
Peter K. Vogt (1996. The FASEB Journal 10:1559-1562.)
Peyton Rous. Source.
One hundred years ago today, Peyton Rous published the first in a series of papers describing experiments that began with work on a sarcoma from a single Plymouth Rock hen. In that initial paper, Rous showed that bits of the tumor could establish new tumors when injected into healthy chickens. A year later, in 1911, Rous published what has become a classic in the annals of virology—A Sarcoma of the Fowl Transmissible by an Agent Separable from the Tumor Cells—reporting that the tumors were transmissible from one chicken to another by injection of a cell-free, filtered homogenate of the tumor tissue. The conclusion, since confirmed a thousand times over, was that a virus caused the tumors. The virus, now known as Rous sarcoma virus (RSV), went on to play a starring role in 20th century biomedical research.
Historical accounts tell us that Rous’s findings were initially dismissed by many as a peculiarity of chicken sarcoma, with little or no relevance to human cancer. The view one hundred years later is far more spectacular. In the 1930’s, reports of oncogenic viral agents began to emerge from laboratories studying cancer in inbred mice. Some of these cancer-causing viruses, like Rous sarcoma virus, had RNA genomes, and as a group they came to be known as the RNA Tumor Viruses. In 1958, Howard Temin and Harry Rubin published a description of a quantitative assay for studying Rous sarcoma virus in tissue culture. The assay took advantage of the rapid and reproducible way in which RSV transformed cells. Specifically, diluted solutions of virus could be applied to monolayers of cells, which were then overlaid with agar. Localized “foci” of transformed cells would then form. Virologists could count foci in a monolayer of cells the way bacteriologists count plaques on a lawn of bacteria, back-calculating to determine multiplicity of infection. Thus, by the 1960s, the study of RNA tumor viruses had become a mature field encompassing both in vivo animal studies and tissue culture-based, bench-top experiments. In 1966, Peyton Rous’s contributions were belatedly recognized with a Nobel prize.
Barred Plymouth Rock hen (like the one that
started it all). Source.
Howard Temin’s studies of RSV transformation in tissue culture, and in particular the observation that the transformed phenotype remained stable during passage of transformed cells, led him to the startling hypothesis that the RNA tumor viruses replicated through a DNA intermediate, or provirus. Although Temin published several papers in support of his provirus hypothesis, most of his contemporaries did not see the light until 1970, when he and David Baltimore independently proved that virions of RNA tumor viruses contained RNA-dependent DNA polymerase activity. This enzyme came to be known as reverse-transcriptase (RT). An opinion piece summing up the ensuing flood of follow-up studies was appropriately titled Apres Temin, le Déluge. In the wake of this flood, Francis Crick even felt obliged to defend the so-called Central Dogma of molecular biology. In addition to revolutionizing the study of RNA tumor viruses (subsequently called retroviruses), the discovery of RT was a watershed event in molecular biology, providing the means for generating cDNA and the key to reverse transcription–PCR (RT-PCR). In recognition of their work, Temin and Baltimore received the Nobel Prize in 1975.
By the 1970’s several groups had begun zeroing in on the molecular nature of acute transformation of cells by RSV. Peter Duesberg and Peter Vogt reported that the RSV genome contained an extra bit of sequence not found in the genomes of very closely related, non-transforming viruses. In 1975, Dominique Stehelin, J. Michael Bishop, Harold Varmus, and Peter Vogt reported that this extra sequence was homologous to a host gene. The host gene, called src (from sarcoma) was the first proto-oncogene, and v-src (the version found in RSV), its oncogenic counterpart. Like RT before it, the discovery of viral oncogenes incited a dramatic shift in experimental emphasis, this time by giving scientists a molecular beachhead in the war on cancer. For discovering the cellular origins of viral oncogenes, Bishop and Varmus received the Nobel Prize in 1989.
It is noteworthy that during the sixty-six years separating Rous’s chicken experiments and the discovery of src (1910-1976), no retroviral pathogens of humans were known (it wasn't until 1980 that Robert Gallo’s group reported the isolation of HTLV-I, the first human retrovirus). Thus, seven decades of work on retroviruses had already had a profound impact on biomedical research when, in 1983, the RT-assay described by Temin and Baltimore helped Francoise Barré-Sinoussi and Luc Montagnier detect a new retrovirus in the cells of an AIDS patient. In 2008, Barré-Sinoussi and Montagnier were awarded the Nobel Prize for discovering the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1).
All thanks to Dr. Rous and his prize-winning hen.

(NaturalNews) The horrors caused by Merck and Co.'s Gardasil vaccine and GlaxoSmithKline's (GSK) Cervarix vaccine continue as six young girls recently died from the shots during an experimental Indian trial. The two human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines have been implicated in at least 67 deaths in the U.S., prompting no response from U.S. officials other than to keep pushing it on the public, but the six deaths in India have prompted the government there to immediately stop all trials of the vaccines.
"Two imported brands of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines, namely Gardasil and Cervarix, were allowed to undergo clinical trial (Phase III) in India, before being granted permission for import and market authorization," explained S. Gandhiselvan, minister of state for healthy and family welfare, in a statement to India's parliament. However, because of the deaths, he advised all states to stop vaccinating immediately.
According to reports, the trials were wholly unethical and illegitimate to begin with, and were nothing more than blatant exploitation by drug companies of disadvantaged people from a developing nation. Since many women in the industrialized world are now learning about the dangers of HPV vaccinations and rejecting them, Big Pharma has moved on to other populations in its quest to jab the entire world with the dangerous shots.
TruthAboutGardasil.org, a website devoted to exposing the true dangers associated with HPV vaccinations, also explains that drug companies are falsely advertising the vaccines in other counties, even going so far as to falsely claim that they are mandatory in the U.S., France and Australia.
"We consider this a human rights violation, and request the U.S. to take the lead in protecting fundamental human rights by calling for a congressional hearing," said Rosemary Mathis from TruthAboutGardasil.org.
However, there have been 67 U.S. deaths from HPV vaccinations reported thus far in the Vaccine Adverse Event Report System (VAERS), and countless reports of serious, life-damaging side effects, and officials have done nothing about it. So it is unlikely that the U.S. will do anything to stop the poison from being marketed around the world as a cure.

(NaturalNews) Choosing not to breastfeed your babies can have significant health consequences. Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh have discovered that mothers who do not breastfeed are twice as likely as mothers who do to get type 2 diabetes.
Published in the American Journal of Medicine, the study of over 2,200 women found that more than a quarter of women who do not breastfeed end up developing type 2 diabetes. On the contrary, women who do breastfeed are no more likely to develop the disease than women who have never had children.
The connection between type 2 diabetes and not breastfeeding seems to lie in the belly. Women who breastfeed naturally decrease their maternal belly fat through feeding their children, but women who do not breastfeed tend to keep more of this fat around their midsections.
"Our study provides another good reason to encourage women to breastfeed their infants, at least for the infant's first month of life," explained Dr. Eleanor Schwarz, assistant professor of medicine, epidemiology, and obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. "Clinicians need to consider women's pregnancy and lactation history when advising women about their risk for developing type 2 diabetes."
However, the World Health Organization recommends that mothers breastfeed their babies for at least the first two years in order to provide them with maximum levels of immune-developing nutrition. After all, breast milk is rich in disease-fighting antibodies and contains a rich, perfectly-balanced array of vital nutrients that no formula can match.
Breastfeeding also helps prevent mothers from developing other diseases like metabolic syndrome and breast cancer, so it is good for both the baby and the mother.
"Along with providing optimal nutrition, breast milk also provides compounds that boost babies' immune system and help protect them from bacteria, viruses and parasites," explains the book Bottom Line's Health Breakthroughs 2007.
"In addition, breast-fed children have lower rates of childhood illnesses and tend to be leaner than their formula-fed counterparts. And research has shown that breast-feeding benefits mothers as well, by helping the body return to normal faster after pregnancy."

(NaturalNews) Fluoridation of public water supplies offers no meaningful health benefit, according to a new study comparing cavity rates in two different Ontario provinces.
"Fluoridation is no longer effective," said Hardy Limeback, head of the University of Toronto's preventive dentistry program. Considering all the dangerous effects of fluoride consumption, in fact, he concluded that fluoridation is "more harmful than beneficial."
Fluoridation, the addition of fluoride to public water supplies, has been popular in First
World countries for more than six decades, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control classifies it as one of the greatest health breakthroughs of the 20th century. Fluoridation proponents claim that the mineral strengthens teeth, thereby cutting cavity rate by 20 to 40 percent.
Yet the practice has always been controversial, primarily due to fluoride's undisputed status as a highly reactive neurotoxin. More recent studies suggest that ingestion of fluoride can damage the thyroid gland and reduce children's IQ levels. In 2006, a study published in Cancer Causes and Control found that exposure to large amounts of fluoridated water made seven-year-old boys four times more likely to develop a rare bone cancer known as childhood osteosarcoma.
In the new study, conducted on behalf of The Globe and Mail, researchers from Statistics Canada compared the tooth decay rates in the provinces of Ontario, which has Canada's highest fluoridation rate, and Quebec, which has the lowest. Using data on more than 5,000 people, the researchers found no clinically significant difference.
Among children between the ages of six and 19, the tooth decay rate was only half a cavity higher in Quebec. The average number of cavities among children aged six to 11 was 1.76 in Quebec, compared with 1.7 in Ontario. In children aged 12 to 19, the absolute number of cavities increased but the difference did not; Ontario children averaged 2.35 cavities, compared with 2.79 in Quebec.
According to 2007 data, more than 75 percent of Ontario residents drink fluoridated water, in contrast with less than 6 percent of Quebec residents. Since the data were collected, the government of Quebec City has passed a law ending the use of fluoridation there.
Barring significant differences in rates of tooth brushing, bottled water consumption, or other relevant variables, the study suggests that the effectiveness of fluoridation has been strongly exaggerated.
All of Canada's dental associations and its national health agency, Health Canada, officially endorse water fluoridation. In response to the Globe and Mail report, Health Canada immediately sought to cast doubt on the study, pointing out that it failed to assess individual fluoride intake and correlate that with cavity rates. Nevertheless, the agency admitted that the study data were accurate.
The Canadian study is not the first to cast doubt on the effectiveness of fluoridation. Recent studies have shown that cavity rates have declined at similar rates worldwide, independent of fluoridation.
"The parallel reduction in [cavities] in countries with a lot of fluoridation and countries with not much fluoridation is quite dramatic," said Warren Bell, former head of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment.
Although researchers in the 1940s believed that fluoride acted systemically in the body to strengthen teeth, more recent research suggests that it acts topically on the outside of the tooth. This means that brushing with fluoride toothpaste (which is then spit out) is both safer and more effective than drinking fluoridated water. Some scientists have therefore suggested that increased rates of tooth brushing, rather than water fluoridation, have led to improved dental health worldwide.
Other suggested causes include better overall oral hygiene (including flossing and more frequent brushing), lower sugar consumption, widespread use of antibiotics, and increased exposure to vitamin D in certain populations.

(NaturalNews) Most people have never eaten real chocolate. Sure, we've all wolfed down plenty of "chocolate" candies, bars and cakes. But as you'll see here, very little of that is actually made from real chocolate. Virtually all the chocolate used in modern foods is derived from a hybridized cacao plant that lacks the phytochemical potency that gives real chocolate its many beneficial properties.
So even though almost everyone has tasted chocolate, very few people have actually experienced true heirloom cacao from the original, phytonutrient-rich plants.
Cacao originated in a region now spanning the border of Ecuador and Colombia. Its plants were discovered thousands of years ago, and the cacao fruit and seeds have been used throughout South American culture for as long as human history can remember.
Heirloom cacao is called Arriba Nacional or just "Arriba" for short. That's the real cacao from Ecuador, harvested from heirloom plants growing just the way they grew thousands of years ago.
In comparison, virtually all the chocolate used in candy bars, chocolate chips, chocolate cakes, breads and so on is derived from the hybridized plant called CCN-51 -- a pale shadow of the heirloom "Arribe Nacional" cacao it was supposed to replace.
Most consumers have no idea the chocolate they've been eating is "watered down" with what is effectively a cheap, weakened cacao substitute. And if you've been eating that watered down chocolate all your life, you're in for a real surprise when you get your hands on "Arribe Nacional" cacao, which has a deeper, more complex and "floral" flavor profile.
My first taste of real chocolate
My first experience of real chocolate was enjoyed in Ecuador, where I lived on and off for two years. One day I drove to a nursery in Zamora, a small city to the East of Loja (in Southern Ecuador). There, we picked fresh cacao pods right off the trees, sliced open the tops and began to eat the cacao fruit.
Here's a picture of me holding cacao pods from Zamora: http://www.naturalnews.com/Valley-of-Longevity-Property/photos/17.jpg
Yes, cacao trees have fruit. It's a thin layer of sweet fruity flesh surrounding the cacao bean, sort of in the way a lychee fruit has a layer of delicious white fruit flesh surrounding its central seed. Cacao fruit tastes a little bit like fresh lychee fruit, in fact, with a hint of chocolate flavor in it.
Once you eat the fruit, you're left with cacao seed pods. This is where "chocolate" comes from. The seed pods are usually ground into a fine powder, with the oils being mechanically separated from the non-oil substances which are then subjected to a combination of drying, fermentation and cooking (depending on who's doing the processing), creating a finished cacao powder.
This fine cacao powder is what goes into fine chocolates, often sweetened with sugars or enriched with milk fats. Hence the name "Milk chocolate."
However, the higher cost of heirloom chocolate has kept it out of the hands of all but the most selective chocolate artisans. The number of chocolate-making shops in America that use real heirloom cacao in their confections probably numbers less than ten. That's why virtually no one in North America has ever tasted real chocolate before.
How I met the founder of Pacari
In Ecuador, there's a company producing 100% heirloom cacao that's truly raw (never goes above 118 degrees during processing), truly organic and "single origin" meaning it's all from one region and not blended with other cacaos from other countries.
That company is called Pacari, and its founder, Santiago, introduced me to his line of heirloom cacao one evening at a raw foods gathering at Matt Monarch's house in the Valley of Longevity near Vilcabamba, Ecuador.
There, I had the opportunity to taste 100% raw, unsweetened, full-potency heirloom cacao -- and it was a superfood experience that forever changed my perception about just how powerful and even enlightening superfoods can be.
Food of the Gods?
You see, the best-known active ingredient in cacao is a bitter alkaloid called theobromine. The Latin prefix "theo" is of course the same root as in the word "theology," meaning the study of God. Bromine comes from "broma" which, in the variation of "brosi" is Latin for "food."
Theobromine, then, is literally translated into "food of God" or "food of the Gods."
Why would cacao be named "food of the Gods?" If you just eat regular watered-down chocolate, you'll probably never know. To really attain a deeper experience of cacao, you must eat the heirloom variety that's naturally high in theobromine and other alkaloids. And once you do that, your experience may give you a greater understanding of why, over the last several thousand years, the indigenous people of South America have used superfoods like cacao to support their connection on a spiritual level.
In the cultures of South American people, eating heirloom cacao is not merely an act of consuming calories. Nor is it a form of entertainment as is often pursued in first-world countries. Rather, eating heirloom cacao is a way for them to connect with the universe. It is a deeply spiritual experience, to be savored and honored, not to be wolfed down with processed sugar and ice cream.
Throughout the cultures of South America, food was a way in which people were able to gain insight into the universe around them.
I realize it seems odd in our modern cultures to think of food as a source of enlightenment or wisdom, but this idea was pivotal for South American cultures, and it actually makes good sense: Since we become what we eat, to eat the seed pods of a sacred plant is to become one with that plant. Certain plants alter brain chemistry and function, expanding consciousness and inviting us to explore alternate realities before returning to their physical world, blessed with the gift of new experiential insight. Such is the nature of the "sacred plant journeys" also routinely practiced by medicine healers (shamans) of South American cultures.
While cacao is not a psychedelic plant, it is well known as a source of unique antioxidants and bitter alkaloids that may support healthy moods while brightening your day. Maybe this is why this superfood was called the "food of the Gods."
Straight from Ecuador: 100% organic, raw heirloom cacao
Now, after five thousand years of history, YOU can experience Arribe Nacional heirloom cacao straight from the rainforests of Ecuador.
Thanks to our connections in Ecuador, we were able to coordinate with Santiago to receive a large shipment of this unique heirloom cacao, straight from Ecuador.
This is the real stuff: Pure heirloom cacao, truly raw (not just a false claim, but really truly raw), truly organic and harvested with the help of local farmers in a genuinely fair manner that honors their livelihoods. (The Pacari company works in many ways to help support local cacao farmers, and while it's not yet certified as "Fair Trade," they are working in that direction.)
Right now, we have available for immediate shipment from our store:
• Raw "Arribe" Cacao Beans
• Raw "Arribe" Cacao Paste
• Raw "Arribe" Cacao Butter
• Raw "Arribe" Cacao Nibs
• Raw "Arribe" Cacao Powder
• A combination "chef's pack" of Powder, Nibs, Butter and Paste (regular price is $83.80, but for this article we've marked it down to just $54.72, a nearly 35% savings)
Click here to see these products in the NaturalNews Store.
These are all single-source, straight from Ecuador, made 100% of heirloom cacao plants, organic and raw. Just as importantly, this is perhaps the finest cacao you will ever taste in the world. It is one of life's "bucket list" experiences to ingest this plant and tune in to how it is interacting with your body and mind. To miss out on this plant that our world has to offer is to truly miss out on one of life's real gems.
I regret to have to mention this, but not everything described as "Arribe" in the cacao world is truly Arribe. Some cacao producers will blend a small amount of Arribe into a batch of largely hybridized CCN-51 cacao, then they'll label the final product "Arribe" cacao. That's like calling your salad dressing "Olive Oil Dressing" when it's really made from 90% soybean oil and only 10% olive oil.
Our Arribe cacao is 100% truly Arribe with no misleading blending. Additionally, all the products have absolutely no sweeteners, no filler, no preservatives, no GMOs, no soy, no wheat... nothing! Just pure, raw heirloom cacao from Ecuador to you.
As a result, don't expect this to taste like a candy bar. It doesn't! This is not candy. This is a potent superfood in its purest form, unadulterated and uncooked. It is the closest thing you can find to venturing into the Ecuadorian rainforest and harvesting your own wild cacao pods.
This raw cacao is grown in Ecuador, harvested by Ecuadorian farmers, then processed by hand in small batches. It's never cooked! The result is some of the finest cacao you will ever encounter on our planet.
When you get some of this, consider it a treasure. I recommend not feeding it to anyone who isn't enlightened enough to appreciate what they are consuming. Most children, in particular, are expecting sweet "junk" chocolate and will likely not appreciate "Arribe" heirloom cacao.
And if you do give this as a gift to someone, please explain the history of heirloom cacao to them so they understand what a magnificent food treasure they are consuming. This is the stuff of Kings and Queens. Just a few hundred years ago, only ultra-wealthy royalty would have had access to such exotic foods. Today, we can all experience it!
Pick some up here at the NaturalNews store.
And enjoy this heirloom cacao. This may be some of the finest superfood you are likely to be able to source anywhere in the world.

(NaturalNews) A study out of the Netherlands has put the mainstream media in a mindless tizzy about the health effects of omega-3 fatty acids. Because a group of people fed four teaspoons of omega-3-enriched margarine a day for more than three years did not experience a reduction in heart events, many media outlets are foolishly reporting that omega-3s are not as beneficial as commonly believed.
Margarine, as many people now know, is a synthetic, hydrogenated food product that is actually not a food at all. It is a product composed of synthetic trans-fatty acids that are highly toxic and harmful to health. Margarine is exactly the type of substance that causes heart attacks and cardiovascular illness, making it ridiculous to include as part of a health study.
"[T]rans-fatty acids not only increase the likelihood of a variety of metabolic disorders including arthritis and cancer, but also contribute to heart disease," explains Paul Pitchford in his book Healing with Whole Foods: Asian Traditions and Modern Nutrition. "In the United States, 95 percent of trans-fatty acid ingestion is from eating margarine and shortening."
So just because a toxic food product is enhanced with low levels of beneficial omega-3 fatty acids does not mean that it will help people to avoid a heart attack. But it is precisely this flawed methodology that the media has preyed upon in an effort to debunk the true health-promoting benefits from omega-3s.
Ironically, a study conducted several years ago found that women who consume four or more teaspoons of margarine a day are 66 percent more likely to develop cardiovascular disease than women who consume less than one teaspoon a month. In other words, margarine is directly responsible for causing heart disease.
But these facts have not stopped the media from initiating what appears to be a misinformation campaign designed to deceive the public into thinking that omega-3s are not all that great. Do not be fooled.
Foods and oils naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids, and balanced in terms of omega-6 fatty acids, will do wonders to promote health and prevent disease. These include foods like hemp and flax oils, wild fish and chia seeds.

(NaturalNews) In response to the massive egg recall, some mainstream news outlets have begun addressing the real cause of food contamination: inhumane and unsanitary food production methods. A recent MSNBC article explains that organically-grown eggs from chickens who live and feed in natural pastures are healthier and safer than the caged, industrially-grown ones most people buy.
According to the report, more than 90 percent of store-bought eggs come from chickens who live in tight, filthy cages. Such conditions actually encourage the growth and spread of dangerous bacteria like salmonella. Commercial chickens regularly eat unnatural feed as well, and are typically unable to go outside and get any exercise, which greatly affects the quality and integrity of both their eggs.
"When you put four or five chickens in tiny cages, they can't engage in normal chicken behavior -- pecking in the dirt, dusting," explained chicken expert Gail Damerow, author of Storey's Guide to Raising Chicken, to MSNBC. "The pressure of the wire cages against their feet causes infections, their feathers rub off on the side of the cages...they can't run around and eat flies and take dust baths."
The end result is a whole lot of sick chickens that end up spreading disease around the entire coup, which ultimately ends up contamination the eggs and sickening the public.
Pastured chickens, on the other hand, are free to dig around for bugs, worms and forage, which increases both the vitamin and omega-3 fatty acid content of their eggs. Based on analysis, pastured eggs contain roughly twice as much vitamin E and two-and-a-half times more omega-3s than conventional, caged eggs. These free-roaming chickens are also far less prone to become contaminated with salmonella and other bacteria.
The best way to obtain safe, healthy eggs is to buy them locally from farmers who raise their chickens on pastures, and that use only organic feed. Or if you have the space, you can even buy or build a small, backyard coup to raise your own chickens.

This is Allan Snyder's key paper on the foundations for genius --
6. Music and number
Some autistic savants have the ability to keep time for extended periods with accuracy to the second (Treffert 1989). Apparently, our internal clocks are more precise than might have been imagined. For example, when one autistic child was awakened he said, "It's 2.14 AM", then he went back to sleep (Rimland and Fein 1988, p 485). This ability to equipartition time could also contribute to the impressive musical skills of many autistic savants (Treffert 1989, Hill 1978; Miller 1989) and, when coupled with equipartitioning of space, could suggest a mechanism which interrelates music and mathematics.
So Allan Snyder argues for an "equipartition" ability as the secret to genius but admits he doesn't know which part of the brain -- is it analytical or perceptual -- or is Snyder wrong about it being equipartition at all! Here's how Snyder ends his paper:
So in conclusion, we believe that the mental apparatus to perform "lightning fast" integer arithmetic calculations such as multiplication and division resides in us all, even though it is not normally accessible. The brain appears to perform something tantamount to arithmetic calculations (or analogously equipartitioning) for some unknown aspect of mental processing. The challenge now is to unravel which aspect.
The concept of equipartitioning implies a "divide and average" math which is not just arithmetic - but geometry! In other words the irrational magnitude is an equipartitioning -- but it's NOT an integer nor is it arithmetic! This is an error in logic on Snyder that he overlooked. For example autistic savants, as Snyder describes, also do lightning fast calculations of cube root numbers.
In contrast the arithmetic integer division of the music octave with the musical fifth is
NOT AN EQUIPARTITIONING -- rather the secret of the octave and fifth/fourth division/multipliation arithmetic is
COMPLEMENTARY OPPOSITES So therefore, logically, equipartitioning is an analog geometric thinking -- not inherently a number or integer thinking.
For example: Behavioral and Neural Basis of Number Sense in Infancy — Current ...
by ME Libertus - 2009 - These parallels suggest that infants possess the same analog magnitude system as adults, Snyder admits that his concept of equipartitioning is based on spatial thinking of number -- but this spatial arithmetic or musical thinking does not have to originate with symbols, rather it could be visual -- from pure photons or pure space even or pure time.
Also Snyder emphasizes the difference between the "automatic" lower brain skills -- amazing as they are -- of autistic savants, in contrast to genius which can shift from different mindsets. Genius can ACCESS the lower brain visualization skills which are automatic but the genius can then apply that information to different mindsets -- or conceptual higher brain thinking (the prefrontal cortex).
O.K. so let's revisit this automatic brain functioning -- is it really "equipartitioning" -- even if it is NOT arithmetic or integer thinking? Or is Snyder really correct -- that automatic savant processes are based on arithmetic integers -- but it is not really equipartitioning! More fundamentally -- on a different mindset -- is the third possibility that infinite potential is a process that can not be described with symbols, neither as integers nor as equipartitioning -- the fundamental process is inherently uncertainty, or formless -- truly infinite -- a process of eternal listening. Here's more details on just how the complementary opposite resonance works in the "real" world -- macroquantum worldVeljkovic and Cosic proposed that molecular interactions are electrical in nature, and they take place over distances that are large compared with the size of molecules [6, 7]. Cosic later introduced the idea of dynamic electromagnetic field interactions, that molecules recognize their particular targets and vice versa by electromagnetic resonance [6]. In other words, the molecules send out specific frequencies of electromagnetic waves which not only enable them to ‘see' and ‘hear' each other, as both photon and phonon modes exist for electromagnetic waves, but also to influence each other at a distance and become ineluctably drawn to each other if vibrating out of phase (in a complementary way).
So the theory of complementary opposite resonance is that because the harmonic fifths of the natural resonance do not line up arithmetically with the octave then there is an "infinite spiral of fifths" through the whole energy spectrum. This means that contrary to Western logic C:G as 2:3 does not equal G:C as 3:2. Instead we have C:G is 2:3 and G:C is 3:4. Then I discovered that this is also the secret to yin and yang. Then I discovered that the Bushmen healing was the same as the Taoist alchemy and the kundalini -- and that the three gunas of India are the oldest philosophy and so are from the Dravidian African culture -- going back to the alchemy of Ethiopia and the Bushmen music healing culture.Tonight John Hutchinson is on coasttocoastam with
his physicist ally Dr. Bob Koontz -- so it's a very excellent show as Koontz can articulate John's research. The key secret is the use of longitudinal or scalar waves -- sound waves -- but at very high frequency. This was also Tesla's secret and the Russians are known to use scalar waves -- and the Nazis built on Tesla research and the U.S. continued it, etc.
Dr. Bob Koontz captures the essential concept of complementary opposite resonance!Consider two photons in a box -- with the two photons 180 degrees out of phase. The photons each carry one unit of energy, but because they are 180 degrees out of phase, the electromagnetic energy density is zero, as is the Poynting vector. Therefore, if we follow conventional reasoning, we have lost two units of energy and thus have a violation of energy conservation. But that is not allowed. We must thus deduce that classical electrodynamics has a flaw within it. That flaw is addressed when we include scalar electromagnetic energy -- as it has come to be called.
This energy though can be created from normal sound resonance into ultrasound which then cavitates into light as fusion energy -- sonofusion:
Stan Meyer did this and was killed -- Dr. Andrija Puharich, the CIA mind control physicist also did this -- using water to create hydrogen fusion fuel. Puharich claimed the CIA was out to get him as well.
The scalar infinite wave is the "complementary opposite" or opposite phase as opposite eternal time.
Dr. Konstantin Meyl of Germany has also reproduced these complementary opposite scalar waves -- and they are very likely the means for the secret big black triangle ufo craft.
So at heart this is a QUANTUM model even though Meyl is relying on the normally rejected interpretation of Maxwell's reverse time waves. Feynmann's quantum model also relies on reverse time virtual particles. Also de Broglie's Law of Phase Harmony makes the same phase/frequency paradox model in terms of causality of Einstein's law of relativity.
The automatic information of genius -- from savants -- then APPEARS to be an equipartitioning of space but in fact the arithmetic or integers are harmonized out of photon singularities that bend spacetime!!Dan Eden's biophoton article is an excellent analysis of the inherently fuzzy or squeezed uncertainty - the quantum foundation -- of reality.

Now used widely for depression -- transcranial magnetic stimulation induces electric pulses which create neurohormones
At the heart of this interest in rTMS treatment is the only such device cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In October 2008 the government specified that Neuronetics, Inc.'s NeuroStar could be used to treat major depressive disorder that is resistant to at least one antidepressant medication. Since then, about 200 centers and clinics in the U.S. have purchased the $60,000 system, which resembles a contemporary dentist's chair with an electronics console....
Unlike with electroconvulsive, or electroshock, therapy, where patients must be unconscious and administered muscle relaxants in order to prevent seizures, patients receiving rTMS (which involves trains of pulses during each session, hence the "repetitive" modifier) remain conscious and seated in outpatient settings. Highly focused magnetic pulses of up to 1.5 teslas induce an electrical current two to three centimeters deep in the left prefrontal section of the cerebral cortex. That region, which acts as an emotion modulator, appears to be underproducing neurotransmitters in depression sufferers. The rTMS pulses directly stimulate an area about the size of a quarter, although scientists are examining whether they affect other parts of the brain, too.
...
The side effect that draws the most concern is rare but serious: grand mal seizures. They trigger loss of consciousness and violent muscle contractions. "Seizures do occur, and they should not be brushed off," George says. The rate of seizures is on par with medication therapy, but hard data is difficult to find, he says, adding that no organization tallies these events globally. A show-of-hands survey during an rTMS conference in Italy this year indicated that some are underreporting seizures, according to George, a vocal proponent of rTMS. Still, he estimates that there have been fewer than 50 rTMS-initiated seizures worldwide since the mid-1980s.
Now TMS is also proven to treat autismClaims for TMS treatment of coma, Parkinsons, and Alzheimers and Multiple Sclerosis as well!
Well that video proves at least that singing is right brain dominant!!TMS creates savants -- improved memory capabilities and speed learningYes the author of this study is a hard core well-respected neuroscientist Dr. Allan Synder According to scientists at the Centre for the Mind in Sydney, these hidden talents can be stimulated using magnetism.
Professor Allan Snyder and colleague Elaine Mulcahy say tests on 17 volunteers show their device can improve drawing skills within 15 minutes....
He told BBC News Online: "This shock finding that everyone might possess unconscious skills that can be 'switched on' with magnetic stimulation will challenge many of our conventional views regarding creativity."
While I drew, Snyder continued his lecture. ''You could call this a creativity-amplifying machine. It's a way of altering our states of mind without taking drugs like mescaline. You can make people see the raw data of the world as it is. As it is actually represented in the unconscious mind of all of us.''
Two minutes after I started the first drawing, I was instructed to try again. After another two minutes, I tried a third cat, and then in due course a fourth. Then the experiment was over, and the electrodes were removed. I looked down at my work. The first felines were boxy and stiffly unconvincing. But after I had been subjected to about 10 minutes of transcranial magnetic stimulation, their tails had grown more vibrant, more nervous; their faces were personable and convincing. They were even beginning to wear clever expressions.
I could hardly recognize them as my own drawings, though I had watched myself render each one, in all its loving detail. Somehow over the course of a very few minutes, and with no additional instruction, I had gone from an incompetent draftsman to a very impressive artist of the feline form. ...
He has used TMS dozens of times on university students, measuring its effect on their ability to draw, to proofread and to perform difficult mathematical functions like identifying prime numbers by sight. Hooked up to the machine, 40 percent of test subjects exhibited extraordinary, and newfound, mental skills. That Snyder was able to induce these remarkable feats in a controlled, repeatable experiment is more than just a great party trick; it's a breakthrough that may lead to a revolution in the way we understand the limits of our own intelligence -- and the functioning of the human brain in general.
I've been wondering what Synder was up to since his last book I read on opiate researchIn a 1999 paper called ''Is Integer Arithmetic Fundamental to Mental Processing? The Mind's Secret Arithmetic,'' Snyder and D. John Mitchell considered the example of an autistic infant, whose mind ''is not concept driven. . . . In our view such a mind can tap into lower level details not readily available to introspection by normal individuals.'' These children, they wrote, seem ''to be aware of information in some raw or interim state prior to it being formed into the 'ultimate picture.''' Most astonishing, they went on, ''the mental machinery for performing lightning fast integer arithmetic calculations could be within us all.'' If Snyder's suspicions are correct, in fact, and savants have not more brainpower than the rest of us, but less, then it's even possible that everybody starts out life as a savant. Look, for example, at the ease with which children master complex languages -- a mysterious skill that seems to shut off automatically around the age of 12. ''What we're doing is counterintuitive,'' Snyder tells me. ''We're saying that all these genius skills are easy, they're natural. Our brain does them naturally. Like walking. Do you know how difficult walking is? It's much more difficult than drawing!''
Snyder's theories are bolstered by the documented cases in which sudden brain damage has produced savant abilities almost overnight. He cites the case of Orlando Serrell, a 10-year-old street kid who was hit on the head and immediately began doing calendrical calculations of baffling complexity. Snyder argues that we all have Serrell's powers. ''We remember virtually everything, but we recall very little,'' Snyder explains. ''Now isn't that strange? Everything is in there'' -- he taps the side of his head. ''Buried deep in all our brains are phenomenal abilities, which we lose for some reason as we develop into 'normal' conceptual creatures. But what if we could reawaken them?''
Last year, the Brain Stimulation Laboratory at the Medical University of South Carolina received a $2 million government grant to develop a smaller TMS device that sleep-deprived soldiers could wear to keep them alert. ''It's not 'Star Trek' at all,'' says Ziad Nahas, the laboratory's medical director. ''We've done a lot of the science on reversing cognitive deficiencies in people with insomnia and sleep deficiencies. It works.'' If so, it could be a small leap to the day it boosts soldiers' cognitive functioning under normal circumstances.

Summary
12 patients with schizophrenia and auditory hallucinations received 1 Hz transcranial magnetic stimulation of left temporoparietlal cortex. In a double-blind crossover trial, active stimulation significantly reduced hallucinations relative to sham stimulation.
Here's the Modus Operandi for TMS on schizophrenia"It appears that stimulating populations of neurons once per second with TMS over many minutes modestly reduces the capacity of these neurons to activate each other," Hoffman said [Ralph Hoffman, M.D., a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and lead investigator of the study -ed.] "As a result, neural populations as a whole become less reactive or excitable. Our study findings suggest that hallucinations can be curtailed using this approach without interfering with normal brain function."
Hoffman recently completed a study testing TMS in different areas of the brain and found that positioning the TMS over what is known as Wernicke's region in the left temporal lobe, and a second region located on the opposite side of the brain, were optimal in reducing these hallucinations. He said these two brain areas, which ordinarily play key roles in perceiving words spoken by other persons, have also been found in other studies to be important in producing hallucinated "voices."
BACK TO SYNDER!Allan Synder on Genius without the TMS machine:SC: So, in normal people, you have turned off the part of the brain that is doing higher-level analysis to mimic the autistic state… a part of the brain, which is accessing only a limited amount of information.
ALLAN: Yeah, I mean this is very interesting. Of course, it is fascinating that normally, and in the case of vision let’s say, we don’t see what is out there. We are consciously aware of the label of things, the whole, the concept, the gestalt as we say but we are not conscious of the parts that comprise the whole. It is very interesting. Our executive brain does exactly what any executive wants to know, the final decision. Our brain deliberately inhibits the information that comes from the lower level sensory raw information.
SC: Our brains are filtering that information.
ALLAN: I agree totally with the word filter. That’s right, normally we have filters on our perceptions. We have a filtered version of the world. We don’t see what’s out there. We actually see what our brain has accumulated from past experiences. If you like, you know, a word that is not too often used now is that we are innately prejudiced. We are innately filtered. We do not see things. It explains so much of our behavior. Now, of course, it would be foolish not to mention that this tends to be a pretty good strategy, the strategy to make us fast at the familiar....
I mean autistic people are hardly the people we want to mimic. They don’t have genius. They have mimicry. They do amazing things, but they are not genius. Genius is kind of looking at things in a way that is different from everyone else: To take things from one area and mix them with things in another area and come up with a new synthesis and this is something that they don’t do. But, hey, there is something very interesting. What would it be like if we didn’t have the filters of perception? And that is exactly the autistic state....
Taking on more filters doesn’t seem to be based on how well you do in school or university or anything. It has to do with many other things, which I call being panoramic. And, it’s like having this thing I call the champion mindset, about wanting to differentiate your work from the rest of the pack, being willing to confront conventional wisdom, not being afraid of that, but not doing things deliberately for that purpose. It is recognizing that if you have something new, it is hard to sell. I mean it is, and that is the delightful part about it.
TMS treats cancer!!proven to decrease tumorsThese results showed the first evidence of the anti-tumor effect and immunomodulatory effects brought about by the application of repetitive magnetic stimulation and also suggested the possible relationship between anti-tumor effects and the increase of TNF-α levels caused by pulsed magnetic stimulation. TMS has treated coma...It is not implausible that TMS can produce the improvements observed in Villa. Essentially what is happening is that a damaged brain, which is close to the line of just barely being able to generate wakefulness, is being stimulated so that it functions a bit more. Specifically, TMS may result in hypersynchronization - neurons firing together, which may reinforce their activity.
Increased activation has been shown before with deep brain stimulation - implanting electrodes in the brain that provide an extra kick to the cortex and make it a bit more active. The brain normally requires such activation to be awake, so such artificial stimulation may be replacing lost activation is some cases, or simply increasing the levels of activation in others.
TMS treats symptoms of Parkinsons and AlzheimersConclusions: rTMS induced biochemical changes in specific enzymatic activities, trace metal concentrations, and induction of novel salivary proteins, with sensory improvement in patients with taste and smell dysfunction. Because patients with several neurologic disorders exhibit taste and smell dysfunction, including Parkinson disease, Alzheimer disease, and multiple sclerosis, and because rTMS improved their clinical symptoms, the biochemical changes we observed may be relevant not only in our patients with taste and smell dysfunction but also in patients with neurologic disorders with these sensory abnormalities.

Dramatic climate change is natural!
Finally an honest assessment and opinion about climate change on the planet earth and other solar system planets.
We all know climates of planets are not fixed and that climates do change as a natural process of solar system fluctuations, this aspect of climate change has never been in doubt although many vested interest groups have desperately attempted to claim that various activities of life-forms represent the primary cause of climatic shifts--which... if thought about even for a moment is a preposterous proposition.
Unfortunately intermingling the topics of climate changes and pollution into the same discussion has created much unnecessary confusion, misinformation and emotional rhetoric that hinders rather than assists in addressing either of the conditions. It is time to reconsider the obvious and plan for both - separately.
Climates change, that is what climates do, they always have and always will as long as they are subjected to the variables of solar system activity.
Yes, life and life-form activity is a factor in climate change, but it certainly is not the primary driver of climate change by a long, long shot.
If we subscribed to the notion that life was a primary factor in the cyclic climatic changes of planets - we would need to explain why lifeless planet climates change and why earths climate has always changed regardless of habitation or not. Clearly over the centuries the earth climate has cycled betwixt extremes--regardless.
Wishing the climate would remain fixed and convenient for our needs and wishes is at best fanciful and at worst... ridiculous. Even more preposterous is the thought that climates can be "fixed" through collecting taxes and spending them on "climate cures."
Dramatic Climate Change Is Unpredictable
For millions of years the Earth's climate has alternated between about 100,000 years of ice age and approximately 10-15,000 years of a warm climate like we have today. The climate change is controlled by the Earth's orbit in space, that is to say the Earth's tilt and distance from the sun. But there are also other climatic shifts in the Earth's history and what caused those?
Dramatic climate change of the past
By analyzing the ice cores that are drilled through the more than three kilometer thick ice sheet in Greenland, scientists can obtain information about the temperature and climate going back around 140,000 years.
I do not think anyone would dispute the dynamic nature of climate change as a cyclic phenomena induced by
countless solar system variables... many of which are yet to be discovered and understood. A mistake would be to foist the notion on unsuspecting citizens that the climate can be fitted with a climate control capable of dialing up convenient climate and weather patterns. What would be useful for citizens is solid truthful information backed up by recommendations on how to cope as the climates changes. Clouding the issue with political drivel is neither useful or productive. The climate is changing that is an immutable fact for the disposition of our planet.
The most pronounced climate shifts besides the end of the ice age is a series of climate changes during the ice age where the temperature suddenly rose 10-15 degrees in less than 10 years. The climate change lasted perhaps 1000 years, then -- bang -- the temperature fell drastically and the climate changed again. This happened several times during the ice age and these climate shifts are called the Dansgaard-Oeschger events after the researchers who discovered and described them. Such a sudden, dramatic shift in climate from one state to another is called a tipping point. However, the cause of the rapid climate change is not known and researchers have been unable to reproduce them in modern climate models.
The fact of the matter is--even with our most progressive technology we have no idea what exactly precipitates sudden and dramatic climates shifts on any of the solar system planets. Suffice it to say conditions beyond our understanding continually influence and change conditions experienced on all orbiting bodies. Our observations tell us clearly that these changes can be sudden and very dramatic regardless of the presence of life or activity of life.
This is not to say that humanity should not clean up its act in the way of decimating habitat here on earth. That is another topic though and should be treated as such. As long as organizations speak of climate change and human activity as being a single topic we will be unable to address either disparate topic properly.
Climate change we can do nothing about other than recognize the certainty of it and prepare ourselves to adjust to it. Polluting our living environment to our own demise is something we can address but it should be addressed for the right reasons using sound logic. To mix the two topics together is neither sensible or productive.
Some may say my point is trivial, I believe it to be crucial, while we dither around with a bunch of politically motivated carbon tax schemes and other outright scams to fleece the public of their hard earned money we should be aggressively educating the public on the inevitability of climate change in the correct context. We should be assessing what changes are occurring and offering solid preparation suggestions to match the anticipated change for a particular region.
In the matter of deceasing and eliminating practices of ecology destroying travesty we should be bringing swift and decisive punishment down upon the perpetrators. It will be difficult enough adjusting to climate change without having to struggle against basic needs, such as water, air and food quality which at the moment has been substantially ruined or severely compromised. I do not think anyone is supportive of destroying our own necessaries for life. This should not be a hard sell, should it?
They will say it will cost jobs. At this point I say, "What jobs?" We will never be in a better position to reverse lethal progress as we are now. On every front of socioeconomic status extreme change is needed anyway. We should look for changes for the better--not changes which are aimed at making things the way they were. Firstly the old system did not work, secondly those approaches are acknowledged to be unsustainable--anyway. If nothing else the pre-crash system was rushing us towards self destructive conclusion, who on earth favors that?
It is time to consider radical change, not resurrection of foolhardy approaches.
At the end of the day, does it matter why the climate is changing? Or, is it better to begin adaptation to the change?
A change which seems fairly obvious to most.

Confusing signs of the (scientific) times.
If nothing else I do try and present alternative views here on the Beyond Prophecy 2010 blog.
Sometimes my own views and sometimes others... today my focus is the sun and the likelihood of a sun storm taking out satellites and power-grids. For the past few months many scientists and experts have cautioned that the phenomena of violent sun storms disrupting technology for long periods has been fashionable, abundant and quite adamant.
A central theme of my blog is in fact the upcoming possibility of such an event. Although I have written much about the topic it does not mean I am an ardent supporter of the theory, although given all the scientific input I have tended to expect the event to happen rather than not. It is one of those things best kept in the back of ones mind for the purpose of remaining situationally aware of any impending disaster.
Contrary to the recent conventional wisdom, today we have this perspective...
Dr Phil Wilkinson, the assistant director of the Bureau of Meteorology's Ionospheric Prediction Service, says claims that this coming solar maximum will be the most violent in 100 years are not factual.
Expert rubbishes solar storm claims
By Stuart Gary for ABC Science Online
Updated Fri Aug 27, 2010 5:21pm AEST
Australia's leading body responsible for monitoring space weather has dismissed claims that a massive solar storm could wipe out the Earth's entire power grid.
One report quotes an Australian astronomer as saying "the storm is likely to come sooner rather than later".
"All this talk about gloom and doom has selling power, but I'm certain it's overstated," he said.
"[It's] going far beyond what's realistic and could be worrying or concerning for people who don't really understand the underlying science behind it all.
"The real message should be that the coming solar maximum period could be equally as hazardous as any other solar maximum."
This is nice, the good Dr. does not want us worrying our silly little heads off about something we could not possibly understand. That is what science is all about... making sure the rest of us do not wake up and become alarmed, particularly about things being done in the scientific community, which as we know is a bastion of fine ethics and purveyor of great intent on our behalf.
(My thoughts on that -
Cause of death - Science!)
Dr. Wilkinson advocates that the next solar maximum period will be no more hazardous that any other solar maximum... on a planet bereft of technology he is quite correct. A super FTE or CME event in historical times would have been no more than a passing curiosity and barely noticeable by citizens at large.
He does offer a cautionary note though... always good to do in case things come back to haunt...
Precautions
Despite the potential threat, Dr Wilkinson says authorities are aware of them and are taking precautions.
"That will be at least a few hours [in advance], enough time to prepare."
He says while some satellites could be damaged by a future CME, others could be protected by being placed in "safe mode".
Dr Wilkinson adds the impact on power grids would be minimal.
"At worst, it's a regional thing, not a global thing as these reports imply," he said.frequency communications may also be affected, but it would be temporary.
So there we have it!
If such an extreme event does occur, Dr. Wilkinson is apparently Johnny on the spot, he will ensure satellites are placed in safe mode and all but guarantees any pesky power bumps or communications losses will be a fleeting thing hardly worthy of preparation.
It is all good stuff and contrasts nicely with the counterpoint offered by NASA...
EMP Threat - Upgraded!
June 4, 2010: Earth and space are about to come into contact in a way that's new to human history. To make preparations, authorities in Washington DC are holding a meeting: The Space Weather Enterprise Forum at the National Press Club on June 8th.
Richard Fisher, head of NASA's Heliophysics Division, explains what it's all about:
"The sun is waking up from a deep slumber, and in the next few years we expect to see much higher levels of solar activity. At the same time, our technological society has developed an unprecedented sensitivity to solar storms. The intersection of these two issues is what we're getting together to discuss."
The National Academy of Sciences framed the problem two years ago in a landmark report entitled "Severe Space Weather Events—Societal and Economic Impacts." It noted how people of the 21st-century rely on high-tech systems for the basics of daily life. Smart power grids, GPS navigation, air travel, financial services and emergency radio communications can all be knocked out by intense solar activity. A century-class solar storm, the Academy warned, could cause twenty times more economic damage than Hurricane Katrina.
I get the distinct sense that the area of science known as astrophysics is in a state of chaos and confusion.
With almost daily new discovery about our universe and in particular our solar system and our personal star - the sun--we may be at a point where anyones guess is as good as another's--be they expert or not.
The term expert conveys the sense of decades of study and learning, the problem is... solar science is being rewritten as I write... so how expert can the experts be?
Is it time to relax?

It's a mystery that presented itself unexpectedly: The radioactive decay of some elements sitting quietly in laboratories on Earth seemed to be influenced by activities inside the Sun, 93 million miles away.
Is this possible?
Researchers from Stanford and Purdue University believe it is. But their explanation of how it happens opens the door to yet another mystery.
There is even an outside chance that this unexpected effect is brought about by a previously unknown particle emitted by the sun. "That would be truly remarkable," said Peter Sturrock, Stanford professor emeritus of applied physics and an expert on the inner workings of the Sun.
The story begins, in a sense, in classrooms around the world, where students are taught that the rate of decay of a specific radioactive material is a constant. This concept is relied upon, for example, when anthropologists use carbon-14 to date ancient artifacts and when doctors determine the proper dose of radioactivity to treat a cancer patient.
But that assumption was challenged in an unexpected way by a group of researchers from Purdue University who at the time were more interested in random numbers than nuclear decay. (Scientists use long strings of random numbers for a variety of calculations, but they are difficult to produce, since the process used to produce the numbers has an influence on the outcome.)
The sun is a major source of radiation for life on Earth. Click image for larger view. Credit: NASA/ESA/SOHO
Ephraim Fischbach, a physics professor at Purdue, was looking into the rate of radioactive decay of several isotopes as a possible source of random numbers generated without any human input. (A lump of radioactive cesium-137, for example, may decay at a steady rate overall, but individual atoms within the lump will decay in an unpredictable, random pattern. Thus the timing of the random ticks of a Geiger counter placed near the cesium might be used to generate random numbers.)
As the researchers pored through published data on specific isotopes, they found disagreement in the measured decay rates – odd for supposed physical constants.
Checking data collected at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island and the Federal Physical and Technical Institute in Germany, they came across something even more surprising: long-term observation of the decay rate of silicon-32 and radium-226 seemed to show a small seasonal variation. The decay rate was ever so slightly faster in winter than in summer.
Was this fluctuation real, or was it merely a glitch in the equipment used to measure the decay, induced by the change of seasons, with the accompanying changes in temperature and humidity?
"Everyone thought it must be due to experimental mistakes, because we're all brought up to believe that decay rates are constant," Sturrock said.
The Sun speaks
Solar flares send streams of radiation toward the Earth.
On Dec 13, 2006, the Sun itself provided a crucial clue, when a solar flare sent a stream of particles and radiation toward Earth. Purdue nuclear engineer Jere Jenkins, while measuring the decay rate of manganese-54, a short-lived isotope used in medical diagnostics, noticed that the rate dropped slightly during the flare, a decrease that started about a day and a half before the flare.
If this apparent relationship between flares and decay rates proves true, it could lead to a method of predicting solar flares prior to their occurrence, which could help prevent damage to satellites and electric grids, as well as save the lives of astronauts in space.
The decay-rate aberrations that Jenkins noticed occurred during the middle of the night in Indiana – meaning that something produced by the sun had traveled all the way through the Earth to reach Jenkins' detectors. What could the flare send forth that could have such an effect?
Jenkins and Fischbach guessed that the culprits in this bit of decay-rate mischief were probably solar neutrinos, the almost weightless particles famous for flying at almost the speed of light through the physical world – humans, rocks, oceans or planets – with virtually no interaction with anything.
Then, in a series of papers published in Astroparticle Physics, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research and Space Science Reviews, Jenkins, Fischbach and their colleagues showed that the observed variations in decay rates were highly unlikely to have come from environmental influences on the detection systems.
Reason for suspicion
Studying radiation from the Sun will help scientists develop ways of protecting astronauts from its harmful effects. Image Credit: NASA
Their findings strengthened the argument that the strange swings in decay rates were caused by neutrinos from the Sun. The swings seemed to be in synch with the Earth's elliptical orbit, with the decay rates oscillating as the Earth came closer to the Sun (where it would be exposed to more neutrinos) and then moving away.
So there was good reason to suspect the Sun, but could it be proved?
Enter Peter Sturrock, Stanford professor emeritus of applied physics and an expert on the inner workings of the Sun. While on a visit to the National Solar Observatory in Arizona, Sturrock was handed copies of the scientific journal articles written by the Purdue researchers.
Sturrock knew from long experience that the intensity of the barrage of neutrinos the sun continuously sends racing toward Earth varies on a regular basis as the Sun itself revolves and shows a different face, like a slower version of the revolving light on a police car. His advice to Purdue: Look for evidence that the changes in radioactive decay on Earth vary with the rotation of the Sun. "That's what I suggested. And that's what we have done."
A surprise
The Sun influences Earth in many ways. On one hand it provides the light and heat that sustains life on our planet. On the other hand it bathes the Earth in ultraviolet light, showers it with x-rays, gamma-rays, electrons, and atomic nuclei, and wraps the Earth in the folds of its own magnetic field. Credit: NASA
Going back to take another look at the decay data from the Brookhaven lab, the researchers found a recurring pattern of 33 days. It was a bit of a surprise, given that most solar observations show a pattern of about 28 days – the rotation rate of the surface of the Sun.
The explanation? The core of the Sun – where nuclear reactions produce neutrinos – apparently spins more slowly than the surface we see. "It may seem counter-intuitive, but it looks as if the core rotates more slowly than the rest of the Sun," Sturrock said.
All of the evidence points toward a conclusion that the Sun is "communicating" with radioactive isotopes on Earth, said Fischbach.
But there's one rather large question left unanswered. No one knows how neutrinos could interact with radioactive materials to change their rate of decay.
"It doesn't make sense according to conventional ideas," Fischbach said. Jenkins whimsically added, "What we're suggesting is that something that doesn't really interact with anything is changing something that can't be changed."
"It's an effect that no one yet understands," agreed Sturrock. "Theorists are starting to say, 'What's going on?' But that's what the evidence points to. It's a challenge for the physicists and a challenge for the solar people too."
If the mystery particle is not a neutrino, "It would have to be something we don't know about, an unknown particle that is also emitted by the Sun and has this effect, and that would be even more remarkable," Sturrock said.
Chantal Jolagh, a science-writing intern at the Stanford News Service, contributed to this story.

August 30, 2010
Today I had the honor of a several hour chat session with Ezra of tonecoloralchemy I had previously blogged and posted on his esoteric music research which was featured in the mystic symbolic scene -- admittedly I don't really fall into the scene.
Still it was a true pleasure to finally have an in depth conversation with someone who was trained in music -- classical and music theory -- and who was also interested in alchemy and yoga, etc.
What I found fascinating was our basic differences in understanding music yet at the same time we could also relate our information to each other well. Ezra was sincerely interested in my research but at the same it was definitely new information to him and it still needs to be further explored by him.
The basic concept is asymmetric time. Our conversation had started on qigong master Effie P. Chow and how great she was. Hopefully Ezra will be taking classes from her soon or maybe seeing a presentation by her. Effie Chow is a qigong master -- the first master I saw -- in 1995 in Minneapolis -- as I told Ezra, Effie P. Chow blew the fuses out in the room behind us! haha.
Effie P. Chow told us how if she's confronted by a strong man type it doesn't matter since she can just sense where his energy is and then add his energy to her own. Yeah she's awesome and then she awarded Chunyi Lin as qigong master of 2010!! haha.
So that early connection I had with her and the continued connection I still have through Chunyi Lin -- even though I haven't seen him in 5 years! haha. He said he'd "keep an eye" on me. Last night I had this awesome dream with Chunyi Lin -- well it was "just a dream" but he did amazing healing of himself this time. He also gave me advice -- but the dream was also real funny and light hearted. Mainly just from my subconscious associations from last night's blog research on qigong.
EFFIE CHOW HEALING TINNITUS and DEAFNESS on video
Anyway so I was in full lotus the whole time I was in chat session with Ezra -- for several hours. I took a couple breaks real real quick just to run to do something quick. So it was a pretty intense conversation yet at the same time we had a lot of great interaction -- it was one of the best conversations I've ever had! haha. I don't meet someone with so similar interests very often.
EFFIE CHOW AT THE SPRING FOREST QIGONG HEALING CONFERENCE BREAKOUT SESSION!!
One of the topics we focused on was Ezra's chromatic circle of tones (sorry but the term he uses is on his website) -- it's 12 notes. I said that to me that was the "circle of fifths" and so we discussed this for quite a while -- centering on the mystery of the tritone as the Devil's Tone. Of course it got into my whole research on the tritone as the square root of two and how it's connected to 5/4 as the cube root of two. How, because of the Comma of Pythagoras, the circle of fifths is really the "infinite spiral of fifths" and that's the secret of alchemy.
Ezra was saying that the real secret of the tritone is because the Devil is from the word for Double -- and so the Devil's Tone is because the tritone on the chromatic circle is directly across or double of the root tone. Ezra said that it's important to understand that the tone is not the same as the ratio because a tone is one note with a letter naming it while the ratio is the interval between the notes. He pointed out that Hertz is the frequency of the note while the ratio is the interval.
Well again the basic issue is whether time is asymmetric -- we continued on that topic but also I asked Ezra if he had read Erno Lendvai's book on Bela Bartok. Ezra had not but Ezra's grandma was the only or first pianist to have all of Bartok's music recorded! So Ezra has a famous Hungarian pianist for his grandma!! Obviously he's got the Bartok connection big time.
EFFIE CHOW AS THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER FOR THE SPRING FOREST CONFERENCE!!
Well I had mentioned it because I had mentioned how in terms of Ezra's time as spatial measurement perspective with the tritone as equidistance -- this reminded me of Ezra's website also discussing the diminished 7th chord as a symmetric transition power chord. So Ezra reiterated this about the diminished 7th chord which has the tritone in it yet the diminished 7th chord is a commonly used transition chord for changing keys. So I mentioned how Bartok used a double stacked diminished 7th chord as his secret symmetry chord. Ezra said yes -- tone in western music is for tonal color as spatial time or harmonic architecture.
We talked about Bach briefly -- Ezra brought him up but I had been thinking about Bach as well -- since Zizek discusses how Bach spaced out his harmonic tones so that the dissonance could be sneaked in -- specifically the Devil's Tone. In other words the tone was more in the sense of timing -- not a vertical harmonic spatial chord -- but a chord or interval as a tone but with spaced out timing. Well actually it's difficult to describe.
Still the issue of asymmetric time was discussed in terms of rhythm -- I mentioned how the heart beat is syncopated -- well Ezra mentioned that first. Technically the heart beat is chaotic. I mentioned how frequency is just slowed down rhythm -- and so if asymmetric rhythm is the secret to alchemical music then the frequency should also be asymmetric. That means no western tuning!
Here Effie Chow heals a woman with cluster migraine headaches
I pointed out that hertz as frequency is based on the second which is from Galileo using his heart beat to count time as spatial distance! Galileo measuring speed, etc. -- but the heart beat is really asymmetric! haha.
Anyway we had good friendly banter. So then Ezra was saying that if tone is actually a letter as a note then why is C considered the "home tone" -- with the scale having no flat and sharps. Ezra pointed out that in gematria of Greek and Jewish language the numbers and letters don't line up with C as the first letter. Instead the first home tone note should be A.
Well I said that because time is asymmetric then there is no letter as geometry that lines up with the notes as number -- so there is no "one" as the home tone! Because one is not a number since 2:3 as the infinite cycle of fifths never starts and never stops. I said the secret is that one is the I-thought of "I Am that I Am" and "AM" is 2:3:4 with "that" as infinite consciousness which can not be seen, only heard. haha.
Then I said how 2:3 is the electromagnetic energy and 3:4 is the electrochemical energy and so the source of the I-thought is the secret to alchemy -- well it was a very difficult conversation to recreate. Anyway we then discussed this quite a bit -- with the first issue of what happens with 4 -- which was being thought of by Ezra in spatial terms. So I said that it's like the Klein Bottle which is 4 dimensions of space but it can not be visualized -- so the light of the brain goes back into the lower body electrochemical energy of 3:4 -- and this just keeps cycling.

I then said how for light there is no space nor time yet light is quantum so light is based on the time-frequency uncertainty principle. So again time is asymmetric -- time is not contained by space, nor is it symmetric -- no "one" is listening -- yet that is the secret to alchemy. haha.
We were talking about how Ezra when he plays his pan pipes he can harmonically resonate with all sounds around him -- how he will hear the same frequencies played back to him by sounds in Nature -- as he played in the pan pipe. This reminded me of the Haunted Melody concept that Ezra knows of also -- how if we have a song in our head then if we can remember the words this will give a solution to a subconscious electrochemical blockage.
Then this is similar to how the different sounds are used in traditional Chinese medicine for the different organs of the body to solve electrochemical emotional blockages. Ezra said this is also taught in the tone color alchemy system he used from Paul Foster Case -- how the color of the tarot cards are lined up with each organ in the body and a different musical tone.
I also mentioned how when I fast then there our auditory hallucinations -- which is well documented to be created from white noise. So if I've fasted a couple days when I hear white noise from the hard drive fan or from the air conditioner, etc. then I hear what ever song is in the back of my head -- literally in the cerebellum.
Ezra was very interested in the ultrasound angle I had -- how we can hear ultrasound by listening to the highest pitch we hear externally -- when we focus on that internally then it resonates into ultrasound -- but not externally. So that's why meditation is so key -- and that ultrasound then ionizes our electrochemical energy and then the ultrasound cavitates to create light laser energy. haha. Sonofusion as alchemy.
Well then we got into more practical issues about my full lotus posture -- I was describing the third eye and the inner smile. How the inner smile is really from the inner ear which used to be the jaw bone for our mammalian ancestors, starting with the tree shrew. So the inner ear is a vortex spiral -- and this resonates into the pineal gland - I said it is modeled in the Just Tuning but that's still a "divide and average" tuning (using 5/4) so it's not quite the correct answer. Again it's the complementary opposites of 2:3 and 3:4.
So the vagus nerve pulsates with the pineal gland is flexed -- and the third eye transmits the energy omnidirectionally and the electromagnetic energy goes through walls, ceilings and gives females orgasms. haha. Then I said the secret is for the male to have the internal climax also through the vagus nerve. So this vagus nerve connection was new for Ezra as well.
Ezra wanted to know how to find his pineal gland third eye. So I described how to take the top of your ears and fold in the top part towards the center -- so they point -- this middle point of the ear at the top is the center of the skull and the height of the pineal gland. So you go from those sides of the ear points to the center of the brain -- Chunyi Lin showed this to our class.
Of course I recommended doing the small universe as the infinite spiral of fifths alchemy practice -- the 12 notes of the scale along the outside of the body -- using Chunyi Lin's practice c.d. Also the simple standing Tai Chi exercises which rely on the complementary opposite resonance of the yin and yang upper and lower body, left and right hand, etc.
I described how for my third eye training -- Chunyi Lin was burning up the center of my brain from a distance -- and how this was intense. Also it was after I did 3 months of celibacy, no loss of fluid, plus the 8 day fasting on half a glass of water. haha.
Still Ezra said he could feel his pineal gland he thought -- when he focused on that part of his brain. So with more practice we can both fully open our third eyes and have a real mind-meld. haha.
Thanks again Ezra for a great conversation about music and alchemy!!

Some biologists go blissfully through life without paying much attention to lipids. They do this at their own risk, because there are innumerable things to be learned from their study, including, as we will see here, many relevant to the understanding of evolution. Lipids come in unexpected and exciting varieties, a point that has been acknowledged in this blog (for examples, see here and here)
The lipids that make up the membranes of prokaryotes are polar, that is, they have a moiety such as phosphate, linked to one of the carbons of their glycerol backbone (non-polar triglycerides are generally not known to be made by prokaryotes). The lipids of aerobic and facultative bacteria are mainly of the phospholipid or glycolipid type, in which the first two carbons of the glycerol backbone are linked to long-chain fatty acid esters (Figure). The situation, however, is different in many anaerobes, including both Gram-positive and Gram-negative species, in which the membranes contain both diacyl lipids and compounds known as plasmalogens, in which the chain linked to the first carbon of the glycerol is attached through an O-alk-1’-enyl ether bond (Figure) rather than an ester bond. Plasmalogens were accidentally discovered by Robert Feulgen in 1924. He observed that the cytosol of animal cells turned red when stained with a colorless fuchsin-sulfurous acid reagent, aka known as the Schiff reagent. Such staining reveals compounds that contain aldehyde groups. The red color did not appear if Feulgen’s preparations were first treated with alcohol. He called these compounds plasmalogens meaning “aldehyde-forming substances found in the plasma.” It wasn’t until the 1950s that the correct structure of these ether lipids was worked out. Feulgen and others found plasmalogens in many animal tissues; they are present in especially high concentrations in the brain, CNS, and muscles. Indeed, >60% of the phosphatidylethanolamine (PtdEtn) of our brain is in the plasmalogen form.
Robert Feulgen. Source.
In the late 60s and early 70s the biosynthetic pathway for plasmalogen synthesis in animal tissues was elucidated. It was found to start with the acylation of dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP), rather than with glycerol-3-P as is the case for diacyl lipids. A saturated ether bond is formed by replacement of the acyl chain on DHAP with a long chain alcohol. A number of remodeling steps lead to a form of PtdEtn containing the saturated ether bond. The last step is an aerobic desaturation of the saturated ether between the first and second carbons yielding plasmenylethanolamine, the plasmalogen equivalent of PtdEtn (figure).
But among bacteria today only anaerobic species contain plasmalogens. In these organisms, the final oxygen-requiring desaturation reaction is not possible. Furthermore, we know through studies with tritium-labeled glycerol, that bacteria do not use DHAP for plasmalogen formation. Clearly they have another pathway, one that most likely evolved long before these lipids were made by animal and plant cells. The early earth had an anaerobic atmosphere; hence the first living things were anaerobes. Indeed, reactions essential for making bacterial cells—including amino acids, purine and pyrimidine bases, lipids, and essential cofactors—are still anaerobic, in line with their anaerobic ancestry. Present evidence suggests that plasmalogen synthesis in bacteria follows the same pathway used for the formation of diacyl phospholipids, a pathway starting with glycerol-P, but in this case the conversion of diacylphospholipids to the corresponding plasmalogens is carried out via an unknown mechanism.
So, plasmalogens appeared early, but did not survive in aerotolerant and aerobic bacteria. Why not? A clue comes from the finding that the alk-1-enyl ether bond in plasmalogens is broken by reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as superoxide, hydroxyl free radicals, and singlet oxygen. As oxygen increased in the earth’s atmosphere, respiration, with its ability to generate lots more ATP than fermentation, evolved in bacteria. ROS are formed in cells during respiration, typically at the last step in the electron transport chain. This created a problem that aerobes had to solve. The simplest solution was to get rid of plasmalogens and replace them with lipids containing only acyl esters. This process can even be replicated in the laboratory today (see here and here). The separate evolution of Archaea reveals another solution; they make lipids with chemically stable, saturated ether bonds.

(a plasmalogen). Source.
As plants and fungi evolved, they appear to have done well without plasmalogens, but in the simplest animal cells plasmalogens reappear, here made by an aerobic mechanism. Oxygen became an essential reactant for protozoa and metazoa. It is needed for making the sterols and steroid hormones, polyunsaturated fatty acids and eicosanoids formed from them, for the synthesis of certain amino acids, and as noted here, for the synthesis of plasmalogens as well.
But why are plasmalogens needed by animals and why have they been retained in anaerobes? Plasmalogens have a different three-dimensional structure from diacyl lipids, one that allows them to pack more closely, thus rendering membranes less permeable. This may account for their presence in conductive tissues such as the CNS. Further, they can be cleaved by specific enzymes, thus regulating the production of free fatty acids such as arachidonate, the precursor of eicosanoids. It seems that nature rediscovered a useful molecule and learned to make it by a new mechanism. This poses another puzzle: how do animal cells which make ROS avoid the potential damage they can do to plasmalogens? The answer appears to be that, unlike bacteria, they can repair the damage by acylation of the resulting hydroxyl group at the first carbon of the glycerol backbone. Interestingly, this has been proposed as a mechanism to detoxify ROS. It seems that nature has turned the tables!

Sir Edmund Halley and the Pleiades anomaly
...The photon belt is an immense region of space which is radiating intense electromagnetic radiation throughout the visible spectrum and beyond, into high-frequency invisible light; even including some x-ray spectra. It is part of a magnetic flow of light throughout the galaxy. Reference has already been made through the media to huge increases in intensity of 'dangerous' radiation entering through the holes in the ozone layer in certain regions of our planet.

The Wave is a term used to describe a Macro-cosmic Quantum Wave Collapse producing both a physical and a "metaphysical" change to the Earth's cosmic environment theorized to be statistically probable sometime in the early 21st century. This event is variously described by other sources as the planetary shift to 4th density, shift of the ages, harvest etc., and is most often placed around the end of 2012. The subject of The Wave begins with a UFO abduction account, a transcript of an actual hypnotic regression session, that refers to a global cataclysmic change...
Chapter I Riding the Wave
The subject of The Wave has come up many times in the Cassiopaean sessions and many people have written to me asking for more details about this mysterious event that is suggested to be a part of our future experiences. It is such a vast subject with so many references, that I have put off dealing with it until now. But, the time is right, I think, to talk about some of these things.
In one of the earliest contacts with the Cassiopaeans, being in the "test mode," I tossed a rather general question out one night:
07-23-94
Q: (L) What is causing the earth changes?
A: Electromagnetic wave changes.
Q: (L) Can you be more specific?
A: Gap in surge heliographic field.
...
Q: How can one tell if one is programmed?
A: Things will be triggered. You are set up to do certain things... movies, books, different things trigger things that are in your subconscious... I see a key, or a wheel... how a wheel fits together... two wheels fit together and it clicks in...
Q: Okay. This wave you speak of, do you sense that it is a wave coming from deep space or is it a wave coming from within our solar system?
A: It's on its way! We don't know about it but somebody knows!
Q: Who knows, does the government know?
A: Yes.
Q: Do they plan on telling anybody?
A: They are setting things in motion. This is why more and more information is being released...

--"instead of a slow, continuous movement, evolution tends to be characterized by long periods of virtual standstill ("equilibrium"), "punctuated" by episodes of very fast development of new forms.
The "punctuated equilibrium" theory of Niles Eldredge and Stephen Jay Gould was proposed as a criticism of the traditional Darwinian theory of evolution. Eldredge and Gould observed that evolution tends to happen in fits and starts, sometimes moving very fast, sometimes moving very slowly or not at all. On the other hand, typical variations tend to be small. Therefore, Darwin saw evolution as a slow, continuous process, without sudden jumps. However, if you study the fossils of organisms found in subsequent geological layers, you will see long intervals in which nothing changed ("equilibrium"), "punctuated" by short, revolutionary transitions, in which species became extinct and replaced by wholly new forms. Instead of a slow, continous progression, the evolution of life on Earth seems more like the life of a soldier: long periods of boredom interrupted by rare moments of terror.
http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/Punctueq.html
All of this places humanity, and each one of us, squarely in front of a very difficult and topical problem; the creation of a revolutionary advancement in knowledge which will require a transformation of our thinking and being equal to this never-before-seen phenomena now presencing itself in our world. There is no other path to the future than a profound internal experiential perception and knowledge of the events now underway in the natural environment that surrounds us. It is only through this understanding that humanity will achieve balance with the renewing flow of the PlanetoPhysical States and Processes.

The Photon Belt
In 1961 science discovered, by means of satellites, a photon belt encircling the Pleiades. This photon belt * circles the Pleiadian system at an absolute right angle to its orbital planes. As our sun (and we with it) orbits the Pleiades once every 25,860 years, it reaches the midpoint of the photon belt approximately every 12,500 years. It requires some 2,000 years to traverse it, meaning that after departing this realm, another 10,500 years pass before our Solar System enters it again.
Before going any further, we should be mindful of the fact that this particular cycle is nestled within a number of greater cycles. What distinguishes this particular cycle from all its previous occurrences is that it culminates, together with all the other cycles of which it is but a part--including the overall cycle of 206 million years, in one single point of convergence. This is also called the Harmonic Convergence.
* Photon Belt: Huge torroid or "belt" of inter-dimensional Light that passes through this part of Milky Way galaxy in 26,000-year cycle. Last encountered at beginning of 1997. Fortunately, Earth was put into special hole in it that was drilled by a coherent bow wave of gamma particles from a nova that was first observed by astronomers in 1987.
In 1962 we entered the sphere of influence of this photon belt. Calculations approximate the year of the actual entry into its mainstream to be 2011. This correlates with the time when the universe reaches its point of maximum expansion. The East familiarizes us with the contraction and expansion rhythm of the universe as the Inbreath and Outbreath of God--each breath covering a time span (in this density) in the vicinity of 11,000 years. It is no coincidence that this time frame corresponds with the Grand Cycles, the orbit of our sun around the central sun Alcione.
The transition into super-consciousness, [also called] the second Coming of Christ, is to occur at the precise moment of suspension of movement between expansion and contraction, going parallel with the entry into the radiation of the photon belt. This energy is also referred to as the Manasic Vibration or Radiation. Astrophysical calculations, based on the sun's speed traveling through space (29 km/s) -- and Earth's own movement -- indicate that we will enter the photon belt at a speed of 208,800 km/h. The actual entry of Earth into the Manasic Vibration will occur in the twinkling of an eye.
The energy of the photon belt is of etheric and spiritual nature, not physical, but it interacts with and affects the physical.
http://www.burlingtonnews.net/photonbelt.html
You Are Becoming A Galatic Human: The Photon Belt
Paul Otto Hesse discovered that at an absolute right angle (90 degrees) to the movement of the stars in the Pleiades, there was a photon belt shaped like a torroid or huge doughnut with a thickness of approximately 2,000 solar years or 759,864 billion miles. Your earth is now completing a 24,000-26,000-year cycle with this photon belt.
When the photon belt is fully manifested, it will not allow any electrical device to function. Such a development will mean that neither batteries nor electrical circuits will operate when Earth is in the photon belt [17 years]. You will require a new form of energy--photon energy--to operate your former and soon- to-be altered electrical devices.

THE THEORY OF CELESTIAL INFLUENCE:
Man, The Universe, and the Cosmic Mystery
by: RODNEY COLLIN
PHILOSOPHICALLY, MAN CAN SUPPOSE AN ABSOLUTE. SUCH AN Absolute would include all possible dimensions both of time and space. That is to say:
It would include not only the whole universe which man can perceive or imagine, but all other such universes which may lie beyond the power of his perception.
It would include not only the present moment of all such universes, but also their past and their future, whatever past and future may mean on their scale.
It would include not only everything actualised in all the past, present and future of all universes, but also everything that potentially could be actualised in them.
It would include not only all possibilities for all existing universes, but also all potential universes, even though they do not exist, nor ever have.
Such a conception is philosophical for us. Logically, it must be like that, but our mind is unable to come to grips with the formula or make any sense of it.

This PhD study on qigong and bioelectromagnetic energy is excellent
A very simple, straightforward yet highly persuasive model for where qigong energy comes from!!!
Basically the author argues that the key mechanism is the Schumann Resonance entrainment -- so by getting the brain waves down to the theta state there is an increase in amplitude of energy.
Also the pineal gland has magnetite in it so it naturally gets magnetized and then the pineal gland connects to the thalamus which controls the rate of the brain waves.
Furthermore -- when the thalamus is "shut down" then it can entrain and resonate with the electromagnetic fields outside the brain.
Finally oxygen is emphasized as the key -- since oxygen is highly "paramagnetic" -- and this makes sense as Chunyi Lin also emphasizes how normal breathing only takes in 40% good air, while 60% is still stale. Also water easily gets magnetized.
So deep slow breathing will also slow down the brain waves as the two go together -- but if the pineal gland is focused on -- "flexed" as I liked to say - then that should also create the Schumann Resonance entrainment.
Drumming at six beats a second will also entrain the brain wave -- and dancing at 6 beats a second -- clapping at six beats a second, etc.
When Chunyi Lin had his first opening of the third eye -- during the Yan Xin seven hour chi-emitting healing lecture -- Chunyi Lin said he could "see the stars" even though it was day light.
Master Nan, Huai-chi also describes true samadhi as the ability to see the stars during the day time!
If a person is truly resonating with the Schumann Resonance then it makes sense that their consciousness would travel to the top of the Earth's atmosphere! And also this should happen at death as well.
This former qigong student now argues it causes sleep paralysis as spirit possession!
In the third display Monk Shi Yan Tzi took two volunteers from the audience and made them stripe off their shirts. He then positioned them in a sort of a bowing position, this he said was for their own safety. The Monk then summoned up his chi power. This took two or three minutes. Standing a good ten feet from the two volunteers, he reached out hes hand and made a slow downward clawing motion. When the volunteers turned around, each had clearly visible red claw marks down his back. A murmur of surprise went around the room and the Chinese camera crew moved in to take close-up shots o the phenomenon. The curious bowing posture the two volunteers took up was so that the Chi power projected by Monk Shi Yan Tzi wouldn't strike the volunteers square on. If it had, it would almost certainly have injured them. I was later to discover that Shaolin Monks don't normally perform this act of Red Sand Palm technique in public, the Abbot later chastised the younger Monk for performing this as the powerful Chi could have been captured by someone in the audience with ill intent.

The stomach is the elixir field for the jinns where they reside and feed off the contents the individual ingests, the water which had been prayed upon my the sheikh had explosive effects in the stomach such that ordinarily when the individual vomits the jinns would cling onto the lining in the stomach thus preventing them from forcibly leaving, but drinking the water in prelude to this act would prevent the jinn from doing this due to the explosive nature of the water inside which would cause the jinns to extricate involuntarily during the vomiting process. Also the unusual nature of the liquid that was being discharged by me in the west is more commonly known as ectoplasm.
...
But certainly my case was unlike most of the others the Sheikh was dealing with because I had directly invoked these creatures and inadvertently sought their assistance via (i)My instructor channeling the energy into me (ii)Capturing chi from outside my body (iii) Going into deep meditative trances allowing the chi to take control of my body like I was in an intoxicated state taking on the characteristics of animals see Wu Qin Xi five animal frolics (iv) Through various chants and (v) Performance of certain forms/kata with acts of magic embedded with in without even knowing it. What is also most disturbing is that the practice of my art involved the accumulation of these jinns inside me or as my instructor would say the cultivation of chi which could take many years to achieve, which is why they often say that to practice the external arts could take a few years but to practise the internal art a decade i.e. the more chi I had the more adept at the internal arts I became.
This reminds me of when Chunyi Lin did exorcism meditations -- doing Taoist chanting -- and chi emitting -- and Chunyi Lin also says it can take several visits to a room for him to clear it of spirits. Also Master Ni, Huang-chi says that "ghost pollution" is a real problem in the city --
So this person probably was possessed by spirits but rather it was probably from not practicing enough qigong! haha.
Still the website author
does argue that UFOs are jinns as spirit possession and indeed this is what I've argued as well -- how human technology is just a projection of the lower subconscious energy blockages.

Hey great news! Amazing since I was going to tell you that I also started crying again last night when I was healing my aunt. It's a bit embarrassing but not as bad when the previous night she was grabbing my head, in front of her son. Then she started moaning and stuff. haha. Full lotus fun.
But yeah I also have a slight pain in my heart -- my aunt had a congenital heart condition and then finally had surgery in 2001. The pain is more like heart break from having opened the heart chakra -- the results of the two day fast in full lotus at my relatives. So just some extra full lotus fun after I finish digesting some food.
I also want to get coral calcium so it will be easier to alkalize my body. Or not? haha. It turns out that "urine alkanization" actually does clean out the body of toxins!!
Spirulina would be awesome too. My other uncle said that I should eat whatever special diet I need despite my dad. haha. We'll see what happens -- I tell my mom "beggars can't be choosers" -- so it's all good.
I'm going to double the size of my garden now that I've cleared out more buckthorn trees from the forest. I use the buckthorn trees as my deer fence. My mom says the downed trees look too ugly. haha. I found ginseng on our land way back around 15 years ago and I put it in the frig -- then my parents threw it out. haha. It was a huge root -- probably worth $50 or something.
Speaking of ginseng -- Dr. Zibin Guo, medical anthropologist and Tai Chi master -- clues us in!!

Postscript: The concept of being fluid in your movements is not limited to the standing posture. Dr. Zi Bin Guo, a medical anthropologist at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is a major advocate of a simple seated Taiji and Qigong set for both persons with permanent disabilities and those suffering stress and pain issues. In 2008, Dr. Guo directed collaborative team research*, exploring the effect of practicing the four simple moves of Tai Ji Quan as perceived by individuals with sever physical and ambulatory disabilities the past summer. Funded by two University of Chattanooga Foundation Summer Research Fellowships, this study was conducted during an eight weeks period at Siskin Hospital of Chattanooga. The preliminary data from this study has already revealed some significant results and suggests a promising future for the role that this form of Tai Ji exercise could play in improving physical functions/mobility, psychological well being, and in pain reduction for people with severe physical disabilities.
* To test the effectiveness of Taiji in a clinical setting, Guo’s collaborative study was entered into with Dr. Nancy Fell (professor of Physical Therapy-UTC), Dr. Janet Secrest (professor of Nursing-UTC), Dr. Glenn Haban, a neuropsychologist at Siskin Hospital, and Dr. William Johnson, a chiropractor in North Georgia.
But Dr. Guo doesn’t stop there – he has quite an initiative forming on the international stage too – he created a Tai Ji program for people with wheel chair disabilities and the idea caught on. Dr. Guo reached out to Organizers of the 2008 Paralympic Games, the world’s largest multi-sport event for disabled athletes, the response was huge. After demonstrating wheelchair Tai Ji at the Olympic Culture Festival last year in Beijing, Paralympic organizers are considering wheelchair Tai ji for this year’s Paralympic Opening Ceremonies.
Dr. Zibin Guo receives Love Award
May 8th, 2009
The Tennessee Higher Education Commission announces Dr. Zibin Guo is a faculty recipient of a 2009 Love Award. Guo, a medical anthropologist and head of the UT Chattanooga Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Geography, was honored at a reception in Nashville.
Guo actively developed and taught wheelchair Tai Chi. Tai Chi is one of the ancient Chinese martial arts, a noncompetitive self-paced system of gentle physical exercise that Guo has adapted for wheelchair-dependent individuals in the U.S. and China. He said “it was such a wonderful surprise” to learn of his award.
"Before I left Beijing in September, I learned that in order to systematically promote the wheelchair Tai Chi program nationwide, the All China Federation for People with Disabilities and the China Paralympics Administrative Center decided to organize an annual national wheelchair tai chi competition," Guo says.
This wheelchair Tai Chi is happening! At the conclusion of the classes, Mrs. B's improvement was dramatic. She began walking and treading stairs unassisted, and she began to regain use of her left arm. With her strength and mobility vastly improved, she gives all the credit to the seated tai chi method.
"I made so much progress, and I've enjoyed it," she says. "I've been inspired by what I've seen others doing, and it helps me. And they say what I did helped them."
Many of the participants reported improved stamina and said they enjoyed the social nature of the classes. Mrs. K, a 46-year-old woman with multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia, said her breathing improved.
"My energy is up, and my posture has gotten a lot better. I feel like I've accomplished something, and tai chi is easy-it's fun," she says. "The medical world should be aware that people need something like this."
Though his professional reaction to the study is one of guarded optimism, Haban says Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation is committed to continuing the study. He remains hopeful that using Tai Chi as an intervention will positively impact patients' functional strengths.
"The minimum that could be said in this study is that it points to the need for further research to be done," Haban says.
Anyway in that flower book there was a photo of ginseng and then I remembered wondering about that same plant I had seen a few weeks ago. I just have to find it -- but there's definitely more ginseng on our land. It's a threatened species because in the late 1800s in the U.S. there was a depression -- so the farmers harvested ginseng in the woods and then sold the ginseng to China. haha.
As Chunyi Lin says everyone is born a healer -- which is a truly amazing thing to say. Once Chunyi Lin said he was promoting the qigong revolution!! So that's truly amazing -- I think he read my mind on that one as I had recently seen that term in a book or something. "Qigong revolution" is the term for what happened in China in the 1980s.
Did you listen to that Chunyi Lin "universal love" podcast I posted recently? He says how his family went to his dad's grave and they all meditated and then there was a rainbow around the sun. Then they took a photo of the rainbow around the sun and it was in the newspaper in China! haha. When I did the Level 4 weekend retreat for the rainbow meditation -- Chunyi Lin said that while driving down to the retreat there were rainbows all along his car. haha.
Biocentrism excerpt:Take the seemingly undeniable logic that your kitchen is always present, its contents assuming all their familiar shapes and colors whether or not you are in it. But consider: The shapes, colors, and forms known as your kitchen are seen as they are solely because photons of light from the overhead bulb bounce off the various objects and then interact with your brain through a complex set of retinal and neural intermediaries. But on its own, light doesn’t have any color, nor any brightness, nor any visual characteristics at all. It’s merely an electrical and magnetic phenomenon. So while you may think that the kitchen as you remember it was “there” in your absence, the unquestionable reality is that nothing remotely resembling what you can imagine could be present when a consciousness is not interacting.
...
So what’s real? We confront a here-and-now. If the next “image” is different from the last, then it is different, period. We can award that change with the word “time” but that doesn’t mean there’s an actual invisible entity that forms a matrix or grid in which changes occur. That’s just our own way of making sense of things, our tool of perception. We watch our loved ones age and die, and assume an external entity called time is responsible for the crime.
New Ayahuasca podcast interview with fellow Minnesotan Adam Elenbass -- the realitysandwich.com author Adam combined ayahuasca with yoga and said it was by far his best yoga practice session! haha.
For me ayahuasca analog was a 4 hour RAINBOW VORTEX full lotus session!!
This is a fascinating CFZ doc in Africa !! -- They go to Gambia and discover that this deadly spirit dragon creature starts out as a large python, swims out to the ocean, and then turns into a dragon. But the male circumcision training is a month long of not washing which ends with a trance song about the dragon!!
Jon Downes says he would LOVE to find out what this means because the same story of a python transforming into a dragon is also found in Sumatra -- Downes says what does it mean??!!
Of course this is the Rainbow Snake initiation!! It's the kundalini energy training to open the third eye. The secret is the trance dance. In fact in this documentary the person points to the middle of their forehead -- saying you see the dragon but it also means confronting death!!
Well then the documentary konked out on me right after this section. Still if only Jon Downes knew about my Reichian Institute of Crypto-Anthropology.
The quantum nervous system of plants is discovered! But in this new study, he and his colleagues discovered that when light stimulated a chemical reaction in one leaf cell, this caused a "cascade" of events and that this was immediately signalled to the rest of the plant via a specific type of cell called a "bundle sheath cell".
The scientists measured the electrical signals from these cells, which are present in every leaf. They likened the discovery to finding the plants' "nervous system".
Thinking plants
What was even more peculiar, Professor Karpinski said, was that the plants' responses changed depending on the colour of the light that was being shone on them. ....
He and his colleagues examined this more closely by looking at the effect of different colours of light on the plants' immunity to disease.
"When we shone the light for on the plant for one hour and then infected it [with a virus or with bacteria] 24 hours after that light exposure, it resisted the infection," he explained.
"But when we infected the plant before shining the light, it could not build up resistance.
"[So the plant] has a specific memory for the light which builds its immunity against pathogens, and it can adjust to varying light conditions."
He said that plants used information encrypted in the light to immunise themselves against seasonal pathogens.
"Every day or week of the season has… a characteristic light quality," Professor Karpinski explained.

Zecharia Sitchin is a well known name when it comes to "Ancient Astronaut" or "Ancient Aliens" theories. Sitchin has written about the Sumerian and Mesopotamian cultures and given us books on the Annunaki, The Twelfth Planet, Planet X or Nibiru and the return of this planet and "the gods." It been said that that the Annunaki created humanity as a slave race to do their bidding. How much of this is true? Have there been any further analysis of the writing and of Sitchin’s work? Are there any corroborating sources for these claims? We have Michael S. Heiser with us to share some of his finding with us in regards to cuneiform script, the Sumerian culture, the Annunaki, Nephilim, Nibiru and the quality of Sitchin’s work and research. Topics Discussed: Sitchin’s Work, "The Façade," Sumerian, Akkadian, Cuneiform, interpretation of the material, Annunaki, Nibiru, VA243, Constellation, No Knowledge Beyond Saturn, Deities, Nephilim, Planet X, A Tenth or Twelve Planet, Tablets, What is the Agenda? The Rockefeller Initiative, Extra Terrestrials, Aliens, Humanity created as a slave race? Global Peace, Elite Agenda, Roman Catholic Church, The Vatican, ET being born without original Sin, The Drake Equation and more. More with Michael S. Heiser in our second hour as we talk more about the Annunaki, the Summerians and Sitchin’s work. What is in the Summerian texts about the Annunaki? We talk about UFO’s, Gold, Constellation Stories and Mythology, Seeds, The Origins of Seeds, Farming Technology, The Origin of Agriculture, Plant Splicing, Cross Fertilization and other interesting aspects that generally aren’t looked at and recognized when it comes to the ancient Sumerians.

This month we celebrated fourteen years of marriage. We committed "till death do us part" so we're in for the long haul. Fourteen isn't as much as 25 or 30 but it's on the way there. It's a milestone worth marking.

When I made my vows as a young woman there were many things I didn't know about this man with whom I share my heart, body, struggles, hopes, plans, toil, children, memories and laughter. But I knew the really important things: he was committed to his faith, was a man of his word, valued family and cherished me. What more was there to really know?
Of course there was more to know and I spent our pre-marriage days finding out all I could about this man to judge if he would be a suitable partner for the rest of my life. I had a mental checklist and I seriously critiqued him in those most important areas (and some not so important) before I even allowed myself to consider "falling in love". But when I fell baby, boy did I ever. Damien is the center of my world and it feels scary and vulnerable to admit such intense devotion to my husband.

I know I've written a little about that here before. And I also know that writing about matters of the heart is a bit of a deviation from trip reports, minimalist shoe reviews and backpacking tent recommendations. But I can honestly say behind all those techy/gear type posts is a marriage partnership and shared activity between an adventure-loving husband and a learning-to-love adventure wife. The heartbeat of everything we do together and write, even gear reviews, is our love for each other.
Damien's love for me was his giving up competitive cycling because it interfered too much with family time. Then finding a new physical activity we could all do together and patiently encouraging us every step of they way. Never forcing, but leading in love. Love is his research and planning to get gear to keep me comfortable, safe and warm. It's carrying my camera and sometimes even my pack when I'm miserable and dare I say, a pain in the ass.

My role in all of this has been mostly responsive; it is realizing that outdoor adventures make him happy and choosing to follow because loving this man means loving adventure.
How ironic, and perhaps not so surprising, that this innate interest of his is both so attractive and compelling to me (I am inspired by people who push the boundaries) and at the same time exasperating. And I guess this is one of those things that I didn't realize when I married this man; how much I'd grow and change for the better in choosing to support, embrace and learn to love something he loves.

I am not trying to say "look at me, aren't I the model wife". If only you could see the tears of self-pity I've shed, the shameful outbursts on the trail and the woes-me complex I sometimes carry around. Pathetic.
Marriage means sacrifice. It means giving up of ourselves to help our spouses realize their dreams and potential. Walking hand in hand with someone, helping them become who they were meant to be. Isn't this the best gift we can give each other?

Of course this sacrifice goes both ways and I would not want you to think I'm the one who has given up the most. I'm fairly certain that is not the case. We don't keep tabs on that in our relationship but I'm pretty certain Damien has given up more for me. Being the sole provider for years, being steadfast in that responsibility so I can stay home and fulfill my dream as a stay at home mother, homemaker & homeschooler. Yep, this is my dream job. And Damien makes it possible.
I love this man so much and if what he wants from me is to walk with him through the woods and up mountains (literally and figuratively) why wouldn't I?
Yes, it scares the socks right off me somedays to hear him dream and plan our next life adventure. And the truth be known I don't particularly like sweating and sometimes I feel so tired on the trail I want to fall down and throw a tantrum. But we work through those issues (and a host of others) because that's what you do when you're married. I'm pretty sure that's somewhere in our vows.

I might not have realized Damien was such an adventurous guy when we married. But likewise there was no guarantee he'd be such a great husband and father. So if having adventures with me is what he wants I'm trusting and holding on for the ride.

This recording is from the second half of an event that was held on July 24, 1988 to raise money for the Albert Hofmann Foundation. The first half (which I haven't found a recording of yet) included talks by Paul Krassner, Laura Huxley, and Timothy Leary. However a few minutes of the Leary talk are included here. The main part of this recording is a scintillating talk by Ram Das in which he says things such as: "And it feels to me that as long as I live I will still be growing into what happened to me on the first psychedelic experience," and "What has happened is that the Sixties unleashed something extraordinarily powerful that is still reverberating and echoing in this culture, and actually in the world. And what that released was a recognition in people that they were free to change, institutions and themselves."

Stage II - Global Economic Collapse
As the real, cruel global economic reality emerges from the dust cloud of initial collapse, it will readily be seen the elite and their politico hand- servants are now fighting for their own personal relevance and survival as the walls of blame close in on them.
The worst of the crash is about to become manifest and with a vengeance... the reality of 1 - 1 = 0 will not be denied.
With festering angst simmering in the ranks of the masses... retribution is sure to be a stark realization to be faced by many of them as election dates loom ever closer. Unemployed and struggling populations are apt to turn vengeful in a hurry.
Claiming, "We did not see it coming," or saying "it could not have been anticipated," wore thin two years ago.
Penalizing a handful of bottom echelon scoundrels does not appease and neither does promoting the crash perpetrators to positions of crash saviors and doling out obscene bonuses and bailouts to the culprits, non of which has sat well with the newly informed and educated citizens of the world--they are now too difficult to hoodwink!
People are now beyond miffed.
By my estimation we are perhaps 35% into the overall descent. There are many bubbles yet to be deflated and many slimy ploys yet to be confessed. As the noose tightens, so does the inclination to revert from global alliance to sovereign protectionism. In a nut shell, the elitist cabal recognize their only hope is to disengage with foreign alliances, outsourcing, importing and anything else which seems to diminish the opportunity for work and income of their own citizens within their own borders. This means aggressively becoming independent of foreign imports and outsourcing as quickly as possible--at least for appearance sake in the near term.
Adopting protectionist postures will at least provide the illusion that national leadership is taking an interest in its citizens welfare, the truth of the matter will be quite different though.
As a global group with universal aspirations--these self-anointed power knobs have to find a way to say we must not slide into protectionism while at the same time - doing it. As they adopt the protectionist strategies it will become evident ulterior motives remain intact and the only interest is in resuscitation the wounded beast of "capitalism"... a debt (usury) based "Ponzi" scam with a very misleading label. For elitist interests the specter of actually working to make obscene fortunes is to abhorrent to consider-they have a huge appetite for free money and the shirt on your back.
We can expect many different ways to justifying pulling out of the various global liaisons. You will probably see reasons such as the "green" card played--whereby supplier nations are cited as being "too polluting" or "the treatment of people is substandard" or any number of reasons to justify becoming anti globalization - at least temporarily until the dark storm clouds pass.
I for one welcome the "made at home" label.
Unfortunately it will also bring on a new round of ecological and socioeconomic carnage within out own borders, soon you will hear, "Well, if you want jobs here then we have to be able to open up the ways to get our own resource, drill here and mine there. Industrial standards will need to loosen up and a whole host of other "unacceptable" practices will become justifiable.
We will be told "You cannot have your cake and eat it too," sadly this will seem plausible to many.
Of course these arguments will appear sound and before we know it--we will be back in the dark ages... accepting all kinds of compromise, sadly by our own asking, if not begging--beggars cannot be choosers after-all.
There are far better alternatives of course, but they will never see the light of day... profitability from usury will always hold sway. Rather than replacing a system that has never worked and never can, it will be repackaged and sold as a new pig in a poke.
If you are a sign watcher then this is the type of activity you can expect to see in the coming weeks and months...
More U.S. companies avoid oilsands fuel
EDMONTON - Another four major U.S. companies are joining the move to either avoid or completely boycott fuel produced from Alberta's oilsands.
Walgreens, which has 7,500 drugstores across America, is switching fuel suppliers for its delivery trucks to those that don't make gas from oilsands crude.
The move adds to growing international economic pressure on the oilsands industry and the Alberta government to reduce its environmental impact.
This is very noble of course... and like apple pie and motherhood hard to dispute, but what are the alternatives?
Most likely this is a growing support lobby for more dubious but lucrative off-shore and arctic drilling ventures to get away from the bad tar sands happening over the border. It will be a good thing for the Alberta ecology but I suspect other markets will step in and absorb any loss of sales. This gives us a compounding effect, the tar sands goes on unabated and new pristine ecology is savaged - ironically in the name of "green."
That is a cynical perspective I know, but I do know that a "good" disaster is never wasted.
Being beyond the prophetic--I can tell you this... exploration and drilling will take place, it will be the only solution offered. My observations are not based on ecological salvation principles or liberal sentiment, they are based on the certainty that we are far too entwined in the old paradigms to consider or even see the folly of our ways.
It is not history that repeats, it is our behaviors that do, our habits seem unbreakable.
Before the spill... Drill... Safe as houses...

Galeras, a stratovolcano in the southwestern part of Colombia, is one of the South American country’s most active volcanoes. Historic records of eruptions at Galeras date back to the 16th century, and the active cone is part of a volcanic complex that has been erupting for more than one million years. Galeras is only a few kilometers from the city of Pasto, and poses an immediate threat to the more than 300,000 people who live there.
The news is of the breaking kind, meaning it is just occurring - probably over the next few days we will be regaled with non stop coverage of refugees fleeing the erupting volcano. It has been active for a million years--breaking news? Apparently this occurs quite frequently.
Colombia's Galeras volcano erupts; scores evacuate from homes
The surprise for me is that so many people live in the shadow of what is known as one of the worlds most active volcanoes... there again I always wonder at those that live in tornado ally, flood plain belts, earthquake fault zones, mud slide pathways, chronic fire susceptible territory and tsunami prone coast lines?
What's up with that?
Even more perplexing is these "bulls eye" target locations for anticipated natural disaster have somehow been marketed as the most desirable places to live--read as the most expensive.
We spoke about "volunteer fatigue" recently, in that the incidents of natural disaster are coming so thick and fast that world populations are becoming desensitized to the events and the needs of the victims, less and less reporting is occurring and less and less aid is available.
Assistance Fatigue
As these known risk areas are picking up steam in the way of destructive behavior, populations are migrating into them at an ever increasing rate, this is something else to wonder about given we are a specie of self proclaimed intelligence. Surely intelligent specie do not spend millions if not billions on discovering and identifying dangerous locations and situations and then encourage populations to go and live in them - do they?
Migrating into Danger
To whose benefit is it to encourage folks to move into high risk areas and almost certainly become the subject of near future danger and calamity?
And why? This we may never know for sure but it certainly seems worthy of some thought.
In any event--here we are in 2010, more people in more dangerous places while the rate of threat events increase in number and magnitude--Am I the only one perplexed?
Anyway, here we go again...

Never mind that the global economic model has exploded and is now but a smoldering pile of wasted dreams, the trade balance of lethal disease exchange is flourishing as the latest and fast growing import/export sector.
This particular example cites developments in the UK, but the emerging market is global in scope.
The article is written by a microbiologists who notes with glee...
"All I can say as a microbiologist is that, whatever the economic climate, my business will continue to flourish."
That of course sums up the rationale of the current economic climate - and echoes the driving force behind how humanity thinks in general. I do not say this in a disparaging light, it is a useful inkling for those who take an interest in being situationally aware - self-reliance is the key, expect nothing except of self.
Can we stop the Indian superbug?
Should the rapid spread in Britain of NDM-1, an antibiotic-resistant enzyme dubbed the 'new MRSA', be a cause for alarm, asks Hugh Pennington.
The story started in 2008 with a 59-year-old man who had lived in Sweden for many years but was originally from India. He returned to that country many times and was admitted to hospitals there; most recently in New Delhi, in December 2007.
He had diabetes and had developed an abscess. He returned to Sweden in January 2008 and had various tests. Small numbers of Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria were found in his urine. The bacteria were not causing any problems for the patient – he did not have a bladder or kidney infection – but were of interest and were followed up because they were carbapenem-resistant.
The big surprise was that they were negative for all the known relevant carbapenemase genes.
DNA sequencing identified a novel enzyme. Its discoverers called it NDM-1, New Delhi Metallo ß-lactamase.
The story goes on to explain how with the advent of "health vacations"--a method of outsourcing treatments to save costs--patients opt to fly to different countries for cheaper medical procedures, unfortunately it seems the chance of bringing back an unstoppable superbug such as NDM-1 is quite a high probability. This puts a whole new spin on the term "spreading the wealth."
Health “tourism” is here to stay.
The nightmare scenario is that NDM-1 producers are close to becoming true superbugs that are resistant to everything.
The horror model is XDR-TB – extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis, which broke out in South Africa in 2006, and is a significant problem in Russia, among other regions. It is reasonable to say that such strains, which for all practical purpose are so hard to treat that sufferers from them might as well be living in the 1930s
It seems the smarter we become the stupider we act.
It is always the same motivation, economic advantage... regardless of the mode of self-destructive behaviors humans display, you can rest assured that economics was the driving force... it seems we are bound and determined to save or make a penny even if we put the entire planet into jeopardy. To say a "penny wise, pound foolish," would not be out of line, old wisdom is sound because it does stand the test of time.
The tougher the economic climate becomes... the more creative at penny pinching we seem to get, unfortunately some of the corner cutting and short cuts are nothing short of end runs around good sense. As fast as legislators legislate... people will find a bypass for their individual advantage with no long term view for the good of the whole.
From a situationally aware perspective we must never assume that all human beings are similar in either temperament or perspicacity and in truth fellow humans present our greatest threat - unlike the rest of natures treasures, human beings are entirely unpredictable. Forming contingency against the unpredictable is difficult and so assuming the worst is probably wise in a tight situation.

I am often asked--in good nature-- "Is anything happening yet?"
Knowing my interest in extreme earth change people around me seem to ask this question as though I would have the answer.
Of course I do not... but what I do have is "result."
"Result" usually provides confirmation of effect and remains my main source for reporting anticipated change, be it solar, terrestrial or socioeconomic.
"The proof of the pudding is eating it"--comes to mind. In the past few months the answer for millions is a resounding "Yes!" Many things are happening - daily. Be it fire, heat, flood, landslide, volcano or mudslide... dozens of extraordinary events are readily apparent.
We do have three components to reporting, sources which provide anticipation of an event, the event itself--as it occurs--and reports of the event after it has occurred.
The advantage of anticipation is forewarning... while the disadvantage of news is... it is after the fact and has little advantage to victims of a destructive or dangerous event. We attempt to strike a fine balance between "alarming" intelligently while avoiding panic inducing speculation. Knowing what has been projected in the way of threat has to be weighed against probability and degree of impact, hopefully these bulletins achieve that balance.
At the end of the day it is the reader who must weigh odds and act accordingly as they see fit.
Over the past few weeks some very unusual events have occurred, they are now news, having already taken place. These events fit the category of extreme earth change and signal clear indications of weather calamities. They also represent an ever increasing incidence of strange weather episodes and many historical records are being broken.
As to whether they are signs of permanent change to weather patterns remains to be seen. We rely on trend reports to determine "shifts", but it takes a long time to develop meaningful trend reporting, sometimes time is of the essence and awaiting confirmation can be an additional risk to personal safety.
These events are just a smattering of current wild weather incidents, other effects are crop failures and loss of home and property, threat of aftermath disease and all manner of economic and social misery. These are not trifling events and certainly portend wide spread climatic change.
Global weather chaos - is it connected?
(CNN) Millions of people in Pakistan have been devastated by torrential flooding, wildfires in Russia already claimed more than fifty lives, a massive ice island four times the size of Manhattan has just split from Greenland and now Germany, India and the Czech Republic are falling victim to the wrath of mother nature.
The extreme weather around the globe in the past week has already killed more than 1,500 people and the situation is only worsening for a number of countries in Europe and Asia.
Flash flooding in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic over the weekend left nine people dead and thousands have been evacuated from towns and villages along the border.
On Monday, water levels started to ease off, but there were fears that fresh rain on Wednesday could inundate the regions already swollen rivers.
In China, heavy rains turned hillsides into rivers of mud as landslides killed more than 120 people in the northwest of the country.
More than 1,300 people are still missing from the disaster.
In neighbouring India, rescue workers searched a town in the north of the country after flash flooding and landslides killed 145 people and left hundreds more missing.
While this was all happening over the weekend, Pakistan tried to recover from the worst natural disaster in the country's history.
Ahmed Kamal, spokesman for the Pakistan Disaster Authority, said 1,203 people are confirmed dead across the country, and 1,317 have been wounded. About 288,000 houses have been damaged, and more than 278,000 people have been rescued.
At least 12.2 million people have been affected by the torrential rains and floods, Pakistani authorities said.
Scientists are also scrambling to find out why a massive ice island the size of 48,000 football fields broke off a glacial ice shelf in Greenland.
Global weather chaos! Is it connected?
There is the question again, I suppose it is a rhetorical question because of course the global weather systems are connected, to each other and the weather of our star the sun.
As goes the sun, as goes our weather.
We need to keep an eye on sun weather...

Being eminently qualified as a dummy in the vaporous field of technical financial affairs, I became intrigued with the latest snow drift of economic double dip headlines.
There seems to be several schools of thought on the matter ranging from "No double dip!" to "Double dip is certain!".
These hypotheses are put forward by the many and sundry "experts" of the economic world--you know, the ones who did not foresee the original global economic crash coming until it had smashed into smithereens back in late 2007.
With that in mind I decided to skip right over the morass of expert opinion due to the fact that I--the unwashed mass particle--had quite clearly seen the global crash coming and had written about it as far back as 2005.
I only saw it coming because I looked and because I subscribe to a couple of immutable laws, one being the inevitability of 1 - 1 = 0 and the other--the certainty of gravity. Anyway, both laws worked as advertised and the inevitable occurred in spectacular fashion.
The problem I see with the words of financial experts is... they are all heavily engaged in making a living from the performance of investments. The value of investments are driven by their market value which in turn is driven by provocative headlines. This leads me to believe expert generated financial announcements to the press are suspect. The other problem is, wealth can be made as values tank and also when they soar--depending on which way the bets was placed.
Knowing the bets have been placed by the people making the headlines... erodes the voracity of the headline put forward by the pundits--obviously they have agendas and wish to motivate certain market effects advantageous to their particular bet.
So, what is double dip about?
Double dip speaks to the phenomena of a W shaped economic recovery cycle as a graphic. It describes the rush to the bottom (into recession), then a rise back up and then another rush to the bottom... before a final climb back to original values before the initial crash took place... then, after that... away up the economy goes again... happily heading for the stratosphere.
Here are a few typical headlines illustrating the spread of expert opinion on the prospect of a Double Dip recession occurring during the second half of 2010.
So, what is an accurate assessment of economic performance?... going forward.
It seems to me that "Double Dip" is a misnomer.
What we have here... is the original crash temporarily slowed by artificial injections of tax payer money thus creating a false illusion of recovery.
As the various bogus "stimulus" whitewash attempts dry up, (which they currently are) the original horrendous downward corrections will resume and all global economic result will continue original plunge towards true values.
As an example, an uncorrupted DOW point value in 2010 would have been approximately 3700 points, reflecting good and honest growth over the previous decade, not the falsely inflated 10,000 points it currently claims.
This provides a clue as to the extent of the corruption, the differential is between a falsely inflated DOW to 14,000 points (2007) in contrast to an extrapolated uncorrupted value of around 3,700 points--this wide spread between "pretend" and "real" demonstrates the extent of the problem to be overcome.
The DOW has partially corrected down to 10,000 points from 14,000 points (2010) but has been prevented from achieving reality, (3,700 points) because of the bogus prop-up schemes courtesy of various governmental stimulus packages using public funds.
It seems that without the props, assets and markets must surely correct down to what their honest value is, if not sooner then later.
In short, to complete the correction thus allowing recovery to begin, the DOW must devalue from 10,000 points to around 3,700 points--until it does... the agony will be prolonged and add much suffering for the common citizen.
How was the world global economy corrupted?
Simplistically, loans were taken out against assets worth only a fraction of the loan value. It would be like this example. I have a fixed income of $1000 a month. This qualifies me for a mortgage worth $10,000. I find and buy a home for $10,000 and begin making my repayments. All is well, I can afford the payment schedule and the home is used to guarantee the loan.
However, I convince a friend "in the business" to make a document saying that the home is worth $100,000. I take the phony document to another bank and use the house as collateral for another loan of $10,000. I repeat this with several banks until I have taken loans in the amount of $100,000. We then repeat the process until we have dishonestly raised the value of the property to $1 Million dollars against which I have taken loans of $1 Million dollars.
The outcome becomes obvious.
I owe $1 million dollars secured by a home worth only $10,000 and my fixed income cannot possibly carry the payments on all the loans I have taken. I have used money from each of the new loans to make payments on the previous loans but eventually reality catches up and I begin to miss payments.
My debtors eventually want to repossess the "$1 Million" home so they can recoup my outstanding loan balances. Eventually they discover the home is worth only $10,000 and my fixed income is only $1000 a month. I have spent all of the loan money. The debtors realize they are legion and all have claim to the $10,000 securing asset. No one had checked to see if any of my claims had been true - they are all out substantial amounts.
That is where the global economy found itself in 2007, assets worth $200 Trillion LESS than they actually were, but with corresponding noncollectable I.O.U against them. All further lending was stopped and so the flow of goods and payments did too.
This sudden economic realization was called the "crash" or "meltdown" of the entire global economy.
The so called "bailouts" by government represent a virtual situation whereby my neighbor was forced to loan me $10,000 a month for 24 months so I could keep making payments, unfortunately the payments were only for interest on the loans and did not lower the principle so after the 24 months elapsed - nothing had changed except the date and my added debt to my neighbor.
For 24 months things looked "rescued" but it was only a fall-stalling of the inevitable with the added jeopardy of even deeper debt. In the meantime I lost my income, further compounding the issue.
That is literally where the financial world is in 2010, in even deeper than before and with less prospects for recovery.
In desperation governments have taken to printing money wholesale and handing it to the banks which are now stuffed to the gills with fiat cash that cannot be loaned out because no one qualifies for a loan. Everyone is already maxed out from the first go-round. The trillions printed compound the problem by diluting the worth of money already in circulation, this makes for triple jeopardy. To say the approaches used to fix the issues was entirely incorrect would be an understatement - in fact it only addressed symptoms and exacerbated the spread of fiscal disease.
This horrendous indebtedness is evident at every level--be it national, sovereign, state, municipal, corporation or personal debt--everyone is reduced to paying money on the nose for goods and services - lines of credit are extended so far into the future and are so vast in degree - repayment is literally impossible... even if interest charges are waived.
As the economy stalls further, unemployment rises, consumption decreases and the need to produce falls... leading to more unemployment. In the public sector tax bases shrink and so the means to repay outstanding debt dwindles leading to services cuts and even more under employment for citizens - it is the quintessential "domino effect."
That is my view of the situation.
I would love to be corrected if the essence of what I have said is incorrect. My view is simplistically painted but my feeling is--fancy words and technical verbiage does not alter the stark reality of where we are. Our current position and probable destination seems certain unless very swift, decisive and unconventional solutions are applied across the board.
I can think of two common sense solutions.
- Invoke universal debt forgiveness.
- Allow the corrections to true values occur naturally and swiftly.
When a person is a victim of all of this, whether it is called a double dip or not has no relevance, knowing the make and color of the car that strikes you dead has no bearing on your disposition.
The inevitability of 1 - 1 = 0 will not be denied, will it?
My question at this point in the proceedings is:
Will the elitist power knob twisters begin to do what is best for the citizen at large? Or... will they continue to protect their vested interests?
To what peril are they exposed?

Donor Fatigue, a new catch phrase?
I am writing about fatigue today because that is my current disposition--AND--as it turns out... fatigue seems to be the latest global craze with many engaged in fatigue--albeit for different reasons.
Having passed through a debilitating personal set of circumstance over the past couple or three years, I was already tenderized by marination in the juices of life's stew... and so am susceptible these days to upset and consternation... be the disruptive event minor or not.
Not having been around for a few days, it is good to state my reason. I am usually fairly good at putting up the daily blog--BUT--when your computer goes on the fritz--you go off the air. If you have ever tried salvaging a sick computer using stuff piled in the garage from past techno-glory days, you will understand my fatigue. Luckily I have much time right now and not much in the way of money so "home brewing" another rig from discarded parts seemed sensible if not unavoidable, so... after spending time instead of bucks - here I am--for how long only time will tell, computers are not supposed to need duct tape.
The latest general global fatigue seems connected to the seemingly endless stream of world-wide disaster's and calamities inflicting millions of people with a whole litany of woes, be it from earthquake, flood, fire, oil spill or some other derivative or form of extreme earth change. This appears to have led to a wide scope of fatigue. Fatigue experienced by the victims of calamity and a growing weariness of the ones called upon to assist.
In a way, one could imagine the fatigue of people engaged in assisting victims of increasing disasters--be it through donation or direct help--to be a barometer of how prevalent so called "acts of god" have become. If we had such a barometer it would certainly be in the red zone at this point indicating an extreme measure of activity in the realm of disaster aid and management requirement.
The amount of funding and assistance on "an ongoing" basis needed to provision the unfortunate has now become almost a routine fixture of daily life. It seems fortunate folk are becoming overwhelmed by the constant pleas for help--hence the new and somewhat alarming term... "donor fatigue."
As each event occurs the level of sustained interest, both for the event and subsequent assistance called for seems to be dwindling. The people who were struck by disaster early in the cycle seemed to have benefited most and as time goes on and catastrophe after catastrophe occurs--such interest seems to wane--quickly, if not understandably.
Emergency measures are intended for large events happening infrequently... we are now faced with simultaneous or overlapping events happening frequently--or so it seems and we may have hit a tipping point.
Pakistan Flooding Crisis Hit by "Donor Fatigue"?
(CBS) During the last few weeks, monsoon rains have caused the worst flooding in Pakistan's history. About 1,500 people are dead, and 20 million have been affected.
Many need help now, but unlike in previous disasters, relief for Pakistan may be a long time coming, CBS News Correspondent Richard Roth reports.
The destruction's massive. The human suffering's enormous. The pictures from Pakistan are wrenching, but if they've tugged at heartstrings around the globe, they've hardly opened purse strings.
The article goes on to explain the phenomena of growing "donor fatigue" and the probable reasons for it. With no end in sight and no guarantee that an individual will not eventually become embroiled in a "Force majeure" circumstance, it seems sensible to weigh the prevailing humanitarian climate and conclude that external assistance is fast becoming a very thin resource for disaster recovery. It seems that a measure of "futility" has also slipped into the collective psyche.
Under these parameters--increasing unpredictable disaster and decreasing aid--it might be time to review personal approaches to self-sufficiency and sustainment. As they often say, "When the time for action comes, the time for preparation has passed."
We can but hope for the best and plan for the worst.
When looked at sensibly, self-preparation need not be a huge chore or expense, it is mainly a matter of mental preparation, astute situational awareness of surroundings and probabilities combined with a basic plan of action backed up with a few essential items which would provide small comfort or even self-sustainment opportunity. Waiting for someone in authority to baby you through an episode of calamity represents a large risk--if surviving it has merit for you.
It is good to be mindful of the times...

Over many decades economic growth and implied opportunity has been entrenched in the collective psyche and sold as the road happiness, many have succumbed and many are now abjectly disappointed.
This is not an accidental situation... it has been a process of mental molding carefully introduced and cultivated by those who profit well by marketing and fulfilling the peddled fantasies and desires of the created consumerist conditioned mentality.
Perpetual, invasive and alluring advertising keeps the spend fest frenzy on the boil.
This expectation setting ensures the majority of folks do equate economic growth and financial success with being happy. It is a double edged sword though, and when growth ceases and opportunity dries up... it heralds the end of happiness for many.
Mental stresses result from chronic dissatisfaction... and stretched, frayed and snapping nerves can result.
Eventually--with enough time--withdrawal symptoms from being denied the unlimited spend and splurge times, societies at large can soon bend and buckle... transforming quickly from dreamy eyed shoppers into disgruntled and dissident mobs.
This is a situational awareness flag for those interested in remaining aloof from looming civil unrest.
Not only is the fun and frivolous consumption band wagon creaking to a halt, but basic and essential needs are being left unfulfilled--shelter, food and well-being are commodities fast becoming unattainable for many who are used to having them. This is a certain recipe for social unrest... and as the ponds of plenty dry up so too does common courtesy and mellow civil disposition.
For some fortunate folks, financial status is not the natural provider of happiness and as things downturn they are less impacted by the absence of financial advantage and a reduced ability to consume. In this period of greatly diminished commercial opportunity, these well adjusted, realistic folk have the advantage of unclouded expectation. They tend to be realistic and adaptable and will usually find a way to remain buoyant in these stormy waters of discontent, the meek are indeed inheriting the world.
Perhaps if the economy ever does recover we will be more mindful of downturn possibilities and probabilities and moderate expectations accordingly. Historically we have not, lessons learned from periods of great downturn seem soon forgotten once the carrots of opportunity and materialistic reward are proffered enticingly--it seems we are only too willing to substitute "stuff' in favor of real happiness.
I have a feeling the planet itself will intervene and the sheer lack of exhausted resource will force a moderation of approach, the easy grubbing is all gone and only the difficult to harvest and expensive to retrieve are left since the hundred years of concentrated resource rape has been our way.
External intervention seems our only hope, we are far too irresponsible to self-regulate behavior, we misconstrue the meaning of "progress" and turn it into a regressive pursuit while seeking happiness - which is never marked down on clearance.
It is free, always and forever.
Are we even in control of what we want?

It is no great surprise that relationships stretch and strain when financial issues are added to the partnership.
As the economic situation worsens and folks find themselves with little or no income in a land of past plenty... it is almost certain that society will be challenged by more crime in general and violence in particular.
Wealth or even basic income--like a veneer on the roadway of life--covers many underlying stones and rocks facilitating a relatively smooth ride. As the fiscal surface wears thin the sharp tips of dangerous emotion are apt to show through and temperaments change, often negatively.
Initially our closest partners often bear the brunt of anxiety and frustration fueled by a diminished or disappearing income, often close relationships split asunder under the strain. It is doubtful we can blame economic conditions for increasing crime and violence yet there is a relationship between new experience with financial hardship and lawlessness if one considers trends and statistics.
In bad economy, domestic abuse is getting deadlier
Overall domestic violence, including extreme cases, has spiked in the years since the economy went sour.
"The economy and unemployment rate continues to bring stressors to individuals and families and many are not dealing with this well, resulting in family violence," said Diana Christen, chief executive officer for the Family Life Center in Bunnell.
Domestic violence-related killings account for one out of every five murders statewide, Christen said.
"The dramatic increase in domestic violence stalking, manslaughter and homicide is horrific and completely unacceptable," Christen said. "The cases that we've seen are much more brutal, much more frightening, and much more lethal than we've seen before. It's getting worse because the economy is not improving."
Nationally, three out of four domestic violence centers have seen an increase in demand for service due to job losses and financial problems, Namey said.
"It confirms what we are hearing in every corner of the country," he said. "We know that the economy does not cause domestic violence but it's like pouring gasoline on a fire. It's an exacerbating factor."
In the first three years of this progressive global economic collapse, many have made the error of comparing what is coming to the so-called great depression of the 30's--I believe this is a mistake because there are far more dissimilar aspects to the current depression than any other in known history.
Perhaps the circumstances of the larceny, embezzlement and lies which led to the collapse are similar--they always are--the other circumstances are entirely different though.
In days gone by not many folks had anything to lose in the first place and were more or less conditioned to living hand to mouth as due course. Few owned homes, even fewer had access to credit and unemployment or underemployment was already a feature of the times. People were resourceful and made do right from the get go, expectations were realistic and the family unit provided emotional glue.
In 2010--at least in western nations--folks were born into a climate of high expectations and a huge sense of entitlement, blue sky's and sunshine looked to be forever. The situation now and the situation back then cannot be compared, especially in the matter of mental coping.
I would go as far to say the looming emotional disaster of today is as unprecedented as the depth, breadth and scope of the global economic collapse itself. We are in effect sailing in societal disposition uncharted waters with no gage to even project final outcomes of widespread, chronic emotional meltdown... a real prospect as I write this.
There is no tenable immediate solution to arresting the final descent of the economic situation and it is more than probable recovery to a semblance of "prior state" is unachievable... even within the next decade.
Any degree of recovery in the near future can only be partial when compared to pre-2007 times.
As always in the matter of situational awareness it is good to acknowledge the reality of the situation at hand and position yourself accordingly. As conditions worsen... it is probable the indications shown by rising domestic violence will spread to other relationships and associations. Unless people spontaneously move into a stage of survival through advantageous social metamorphosis, your spouse, child, neighbor or associate could become your threat.
Turning inwards to each other with assistance, reestablishing the support of the nuclear family unit, developing other ways to provision each other and a return to village mentality would represent a positive reaction to an ever tightening economic reality. Ignoring elitist management of our fate would render them irrelevant, self-sufficiency and reliance is the only certain thing.
Self-sufficiency has bought countless civilizations through the hardest of times, it is a strategy without time-- yet-- an approach without peer.

Innovation is great and assists humanity in leveling the playing field in the matter of securing survival in a hostile environment. Being generally vulnerable to predation and climate, humanity relied on logic, guile and adaptability to win through, this is the application of "intelligence" a self-ascribed characteristic of our kind.
Bear in mind I am no environmentalist, I have no agenda... I merely observe, assess and report.
How intelligent are we as a collective? Are we too smart for our own good?
The "brains over brawn" effect reverses when innovation yields both a benefit and a threat to the innovator, particularly when the threat overwhelms the benefit of the advantage found. At some point in the near past, risk became acceptable greatly diminishing the goodness of intelligence and associated innovative talent.
Frankly, the unacceptable risks we began to accept are in the name of financial profit.
In modern times we have seeded our ecology and surroundings with uncountable threats directly resulting from "progress aftermath." In terms of effect we must honestly say, output from scientific advancement is regressive in terms of "progress," and represents the single biggest threat to our captive planet. Decades ago innovative benefit gave way to innovation deficit.
In a way, we turned a corner and are devolving rather that evolving. The effect is nothing short of eugenic practice where we recklessly endanger all specie of life for no GOOD purpose. This cannot be justified because we are now challenged far more by the effluent of scientific progress than by any other natural threat, we are literally decimating the health and welfare of all specie for marginal or even irrelevant gains. To say the price of "convenience" is too high would be the understatement of the century.
A vicious cycle has been set up by the introduction of lethal environments, much science is now engaged in attempting to undo the tragic effects of past science--often with good intent--unfortunately many remedial solutions often compound and worsen the situation.
Innovation seems lost to us now, for over a century - progress has by and large amounted to refinements of technology which were founded in crude and unacceptable principles such as can be found in modes of transportation and energy creation. Although much refinement has been done in the name of efficiency the underlying base methodology remains intact, automobiles, aircraft, power generating stations, energy distribution, communications and many other infrastructure fundamentals are all still rooted in their original formats.
Instead of seeking out passive alternative solutions to our problems we have merely refined ancient ways.
Disastrously, many of the science and technology refinements were accomplished using new materials such as petrochemical byproducts which introduced a whole new layer of lethality in the way of noxious, toxic and otherwise poisonous discharge into our living environment - the consequences have been horrendous and continue without abatement.
Instead of thinking outside the box... science has entrapped itself inside a box, the box is a safety deposit receptacle provisioned by elitist profiteers and governmental enablers... we now have a concerted effort by this deadly triumvirate to continue ill-advised, reckless advancement regardless of any risk to the planet as long as revenue streams flow between the three. The risk is downloaded to the hapless inhabitants of the planet.
We and the planet have been sacrificed long term in favor of their short term gain.
Quite bluntly we are entrapped in an insane situation without recourse, sold down the river, lock stock and barrel. The problem is so large now we cannot resolve it. Only an external intervention beyond our comprehension could break this cycle of "hive" insanity.
As a collective, our specie cannot moderate itself and indeed the majority probably see no urgent need to do so, this IS the insanity factor... the inability to recognize and attempt rehabilitation of our self-destructive activities speaks directly to the diagnosis of collective "insanity."
An example of twisted logic can be found here, we have twisted logic in abundance.
Could pollution-eating concrete clean up our urban jungles?
Scientists at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands have developed a paving material that actually eats pollution, claiming it could soon become a crucial tool for improving air quality in urban areas.
The problem in many cities is that vehicle exhausts emit nitrogen oxides, which cause acid rain and smog that damages not only human health and quality of life but also the fabric of buildings.
But the new concrete is coated with titanium dioxide, which is a photocatalytic material, meaning it removes the nitrogen oxides and uses sunlight to convert them into harmless nitrate that is washed away by rain.
Sounds great doesn't it.
At first blush we think good, this will address an aspect of our pollution problem, what it really means is... we will be able to increase our pollution output with less effect. It does not consider the root of the problem at all and would only encourage more pollution. The brilliant innovation does not take into account the mining and processing of the titanium or the effects of transporting it or the damage caused by releasing it into the ecology and apparently nitrates are harmless - the science guy says so. No point to stirring up the comatose is there? There is money to be made here... go buy some shares.
In the interest of situational awareness, be your own judge and keep your own council - it is best to think of science as a servant of commerce - not a benefactor of humanity, I say this based on track record, not out of malice or angst.
Facts always speak for themselves!

You and I as we know ourselves are dead. Our eyes are not fit to see reality. Unless one has trascended the 'objective' human state he is living in darkness. Jupiter has overthrown his father Saturn and usurped the throne. Was does this mean? It means that we have replaced our use of the inutitional/thalamic part of our brain with the reasoning/cortical part. This is all part of the process. We had a period of involutionary developing where we still enjoyed the Father's house but had no individual consciousness. When we surpassed the animal state we had finally individualized. But we could not go directly from unconsciousness to full knowing. We could not immediately see the light. The light was too bright for our eyes. We were not conditioned to the brightness so just as the baby when born into this world must gradually open its eyes and learn the ways of this world, there would be a period of adjusting to the higher level.
We first had to develop the lower mind. To use our reason and thinking. This world was meant for us to experiment, to be treated as a school. There was an order to this world, seeming chaos was in fact governed by causes which produced effects which in turn became causes for more effects and the cycle would go on and on. Because our eyes could not see the truth of this world, we began to objectify all events. We gave value to objects and we laid blame on exterior elements. Eventually we lost complete touch with our true selfs. Identifying ourselves only as the body that was the projection of our state of conscioiusness. We became ashamed of who we were. We would blame any and everyone for all of our misgiving. There was always to be a goat to take the blame for our sins.
We created this personal, private world that we lived in. It was all about self preservation of the body. We had to protect our bodies and our possessions. We had created an ego, a personality that was in essence a mask that protected us from others hurting us. Behind the veil we lived in a race psyche or group consciousness which fueled us to fit in with the general standards and to functioin within the group.
We will forever claim that we are free, we are happy, and that there is no purpose to living. This is a part of the protection. But at somepoint we would begin to move away from the group. We would begin to separate ourselves from others and find our I AM I-ness.
There were prognosticators and sheppards who came before who were able to fully separate themselves and see the truth, they were able to perceive the light. Their eyes were opened to reality and the veil was lifted. Depending on the state our consciousness had evolved to we would either attack them and persecute or we be at a level where we could feel the truth inside. We could not objectively comprehend what ground they stood on but there was a spark inside that had been lit.
And there is a time that they young ones will wake up to the reality of their death in matter. They will realize that the private world that they live in has no truth. That there is a natural order process that all is going through. And when that spark is lit one has the choice whether to leave father and mother behind and take the journey into the wilderness or to continue to "live" in darkness.
So one in objective identity will say, "how does one actually take the journey?" He automatically thinks that he must travel to some distant land and find a "God" who dwells on a mountain top and must destroy the beasts and ogres who will impede his path.
This is the same as one who has the spark kindled and begins to read book after book and cultivate as much intellectual knowledge as possible. Now there is nothing wrong with reading books on philosophy but the problem is that when this indivualizing process begins, the neophyte risks going to far down into the mire and begins to seek to be a scholar, someone who is held in high esteem. He wants his ego stroked. This is a natural part of the process that one must deal with, but he must not go too far into the mud and get stuck.
This part of the process is about a subtraction, not addition. The key is to get a roadmap of the territory to be traversed but one must not be content to simply dwell on the roadmap as if he has already taken the journey and won his boon. Mental functioning was part of the journey when man began to individualize, it was essential to his development, but at some point it becomes his nemesis. Rationalizing and reasoning is Lucifer, he brings you light and tells you that God witheld the knowlege from you that you are God yourself individualized, but he acts as if this is the end when this knowledge is simply the means to a higher estate.
So along the way we have cultivated this lower ego or personality for our protection in development. When we are trying to separate and become an individualized god, it then becomes our nemesis. Our goal is not to fight the ego or repress it but we must race the frequency of energy, we must transmute the energy to a higher octave.
So on the descending ark of involution we picked up many lower level frequencies, habits, evil tendencies, elementals, etc. that now must be expurgated from our house. We let them dwell there and we cultivated them ourselves but now we want the "spirit" to come into our house. We seek to be conscious beings, we want to be able to consciously control our function. We are now conscious of a higher "level" and we want the son to be born within us.
For the son to be born we must go to the Father. We must starve out our lower nature. We must stop giving energy to all the things we have previously identified with that are not of the natural order. An axe must be laid at the root of any plant not planted by my Father. So as was said, the key is not add intelectual faculties but to get rid of all the excess waste that was added while we journeyed down into hell. We cannot lift ourselves up but we must come into the knowledge that "I and my Father are one." When we realize that we are one with that power that animates us, we can contact it, bring it down to this level and we can lift ourselves out of hell. And hell meaning this objective world that we have created because we could not see.
So it is not a process accomplished overnight. When we realize there is a journey to be made we slowly perform the work through meditation and observatioin of what we are giving value to. We slowly raise our frequency level and our eyes slow open to seeing the light. Slowly the configurations that we labeled "objects" now appear as dynamic energy systems that are in the process of becoming and that included our "bodies." Everything is animated by that same power.
So what are we working towards? We are working towards our own oblivion. We must not fear the death of our personality. We must not fear darkness. When we can get to that point of complete darkness then a whole new world shall be opened. When we have completed the work on this level we shall move to whole new world of beauty.
Saturn must re-ascend to it's rightful throne. We must move into a state of feeling as knowing. No longer will we think and rationalize. We will see the truth behind all things. Cause and effect will be seen as one. We will be able to function as co-creators knowing how to create being able to function on the causal levels. We will have self consciousness, being separate but KNOWING the truth that we are one with all things.
So what does it mean to die? Death equals love. When we die to self it means we give all of ourselves asking nothing for ourselves. Death constitutes a re-birth. There is no death in nature, death is just an ascension to the next level in the infinite process of becoming. So this personality has no reality in nature. It is a transitory construct that helps us on a certain level. When we die, the personality will not reincarnate. We simply bring back the aptitudes we have learned and create a new personality, that is only if we have not ascended to the higher Mind level. In that case there is no more need for a personality. That is we are now immortals and do not function on a level where we see ourselves as separate. This is the treasure that is laid up in heaven. This is why we should take this opportunity to take steps forward and try to ascend to the higher level. Then forever we will no longer have to live in bondage to our identifcations and emotionalism.
So stop seeking pleasure and try to avoid pain. Treat all experiences as opportunities for growth. Add on until you have a good roadmap and then start the journey towards the mountain top. Seek death and you know love and then you shall know the true Self and reality behind all things.
This is just my interpretation of the process, most of this has been learned from Vitvan along with my previous teachers and I have been able to condense it down into this.

Longing....it's an interesting word, isn't it? It simply means: a strong persistent yearning or desire, especially one that cannot be fulfilled. To yearn for something, to desire it, to long for it like nothing else in the world. But when you get beneath the definition of the word, it raises within a person all kinds of things...memories, unfulfilled yearnings, instant gratification, pleasure, joy, envy, guilt, shame and even anger. That word alone, longing, can take you on a journey deep into yourself through your past, present, and even into the future.
I used to feel this pang of longing echoing through me...of loneliness...for freedom...for love....for understanding. I longed for a place to rest my weary head after a long and painful journey. I longed for a sanctuary to call my own....a light in the darkness.
That longing was enough to halt me in my tracks. It could leave me frozen as the world passed me by. And as it passed, the longing would grow because I would watch people walk in and out of my life, moving forward with theirs while mine seemed to stagnant in the same place...rooted and never budging.
Sometimes I still feel those pangs of longing, though they are now very few and far between. And it's like a moment of pure anxiety clawing at your stomach when it overtakes you. It brings you to your knees as though the harshness of reality is telling you that you have no place in it.
I believed in fairy tales, at that time, where the prince or knight saves the helpless damsel who is in distress and they live happily ever after. But it wasn't just limited to romance. I imagined there was someone...anyone really... out there who would be a savior for me..a guardian angel in the flesh if you will. Friend, family, lover, it didn't matter who or what relation they were to me.
And because I clung to that blissful fantasy, of a soul mate in whatever form they took, I started down a road I didn't even realize I was treading upon. I slowly began relinquishing control of my own life to other people. And the people I chose seemed to be perfection. But they weren't.
They were strong men and women, to be sure, but that perfection was nothing more than the sun shining brilliantly upon a pool of toxic waste. When the sun shines on it just so, it is as beautiful as any pool of water. But if you get to close you can see that the water is tainted. You can see the damage it causes to an ecosystem: dead fish, dead plants, mutated animals, unhealthy drinking water.
What do I mean? Once you step into a relationship like that, born out of the deep seeded need to escape because reality shines how much value you place upon yourself like a mirror and a dream that allows you to stay blind to that reality, you willingly hand control over your life to someone else. And you essentially tell them it doesn't matter what they do with that control as long as that dream can stay intact within you. Because in that dream there is hope...hope that he will change and hope that things will get better if you are just simply patient enough. Hope that he really is the savior the you long for.
That longing can take us down many roads we can not fathom as we stand here...right in this moment. It can drive us into behaviors we wouldn't dream of when we are not bound in a flood of emotions.
For me, what that meant is that I did things I never would have done before that longing: drugs, alcohol, sexual promiscuity, and more. And it was all in the attempt to fill that void inside me which cried out in longing, all in the attempt to escape my inevitable fate of meeting myself in all of my shame, in all of my guilt, in all of my self loathing. All of this was because I did not want to see myself as I am and because I wanted to stay blind to the world around me.
But that's extreme, isn't it? My choices and experiences can not really speak to other people's experiences. Some might share in those experiences, but most people's longings do not take on such all consuming proportions, where it literally takes over the whole of your life as it did in case.
Instead we tend to feel it in increments, little by little, as it builds over time. And it happens in those random moments when we find ourselves alone and contemplative. And the truth is, it can happen to anyone, even the happiest of people who appear to have the 'perfect' life. Wealth, status, luck, romance....none of these things can keep one from feeling those pangs of longing. Because for all of the value we place on them, they are still superficial affectations which can only fill that void for a as long as one can remain in their 'dream'.
Imagine the mother who seems to have the perfect life. She has a hard working husband and 2 beautiful children that she truly adores. She has the gorgeous home she's always dreamed of. And yet, despite all of these things, she still feels an undefined longing for something just out of her reach.
Imagine the wealthy child of two very successful hardworking people, who lives in a mansion and has all of her needs met. Just because her needs are met, it does not mean she does not long for more time with her family...to be loved, to be coddled, to be cared for. Instead, she has known nannies and servants as her caregivers, because her parents are to busy with their work and their social lives to give her what she longs for. Money is no salve to that wound.
Imagine the man who is raised in poverty and dreams of doing something important with his life. And yet, he finds doors closed to him because he lacks the grades, money and/or status to rise above his present circumstances through educational means. So instead he turns to drug dealing to rake in the money. The money he makes might buy him the material things he wants and the drugs might allow him to forget his circumstances, but is he truly fulfilling that longing? Or is he simply paving over that longing with other things?
Imagine the teenager suddenly making the transition from child to adult. Imagine the fear and anxiety they must feel as they move into the adult world. Some do this with the safety net of their family's support, while others do not. But it does not change the fear and anxiety at facing so many new experiences on their own all at once.
My point in offering these examples is simple. Everyone experiences longing, despite age, race, wealth, status, and so on. It is part of the human condition. Sometimes it is undefined and hidden, only showing it's face when we are alone. Other times, it has definition and direction, consuming our lives in such a way that it changes the course of how we live.
What is it you long for? Do you even know? Have you ever stopped a moment to truly and earnestly consider the question? Or is it one of those things that you feel is best avoided because you think there is nothing you can do about it? How do you escape then?
Consider it, because in its reckoning, you will discover much about yourself that you probably didn't know before. Or perhaps you did but refused to acknowledge. Either way, though, think on it. It's well worth the introspection. ^_^
The Longing
In the darkness, I could not seethe demon which was clawing at me,crying out to rise in haste, while leaving me in mortal waste, because this thing, I could not let go,untouched seeds I would not sow.
So instead it came in dreams, endless halls of running to extremes, while haunted...chased, I ran in fear, with screams of terror no one could hear, for only one could hear my call, which echoed through the endless halls, that thing that chased me endlessly, into a corner where I could not flee.
And there I stood in terror's grip, letting not a single breath slip,as it came to stand before, while I crouched upon the floor. And to that unknown entity,I would not raise my eyes to see.
So it took my face in hand, and raised it high to see the land, and to my mortal eyes behold, before me stood a mirror old,and in it's breadth, there I stood,no longer concealed beneath a hood, that left me breathlessly distraught, running away from all that I am naught, and instead it stood to wait, beckoning me to embody my fate, for there came arms of tender embrace, bringing finality to the endless race, that I had run until that time, where now I stood enshrouded in the sublime.
From the depths of the darkness unknown, where I came to stand alone,to face a nightmare demon it seemed,I found instead myself redeemed. For what was unseen, I did embrace, leaving the endless cycle in a state of grace.

We're going to look at a lighter subject from a darker point of view today with author Bob Curran who joins us from Northern Ireland to discuss his book "Dark Fairies". He has been investigating the folkloric roots of the fairy kind, and looking myths and stories from around the world - on all kinds of creatures. This is not a book for those who believe that fairies are friendly, kindly creatures. In ancient times, the concept of fairies was rather different. They were the often-dangerous embodiment of the land, dark and unpredictable spirits that watched humanity with a envious and hostile eye. We talk about Spirits, Superstition, The Origins in the Northern Lands, Elementals, The People of the Mounds, possession and Sickness related to the phenomena of Spirits and Fairies. Topics Discuss: Folklore, Legends in Ireland, Norway, the Ancient Saga, Fairies, Racial Folk Memory, Real or Imaginary, Walt Disney, Oracle of Delphi, Vapours, Fatui, Spirits, Superstition, Christianity and the Church, Elementals, Air, Water, Earth, Fire, Satan, Death, Vampires, The People of the Mounds, Djinn, Possession, Sickness, Physical or Psychological, Changeling, Cottingley Fairies. It gets more and more interesting with Bob Curran in our next hour as we talk about earth lights, plasma phenomena, marsh gas, ball lights, the Brown mountain lights in North Carolina, Cherokee legend and Native American stories about these kinds of energies or spirits. We talk about our modern interpretation of fairies. Today we use words like UFO's and Grey's that come in the night and abduct people. The stories are the same but some of the names and our interpretation might have changed slightly. Don't miss hour two for much more.

16) The 7 Lessons that Compulsory Curriculum teach:
- Confusion. Everything I teach is out of context. I teach the un-relating of everything.
- Class position. That’s the real lesson of any rigged competition like school. You come to know your place.
- Indifference. The lesson of bells is that no work is worth finishing, so why care too deeply about anything?
- Emotional dependency. By stars and red checks, smiles and frowns, prizes, honors, and disgraces, I teach kids to surrender their will to the predestined chain of command.
- Intellectual dependency. Of the millions of things of value to study, I decide what few we have time for, or actually it is decided by my faceless employers….Curiosity has no important place in my work, only conformity. Gatto says this is “the most important lesson, that we must wait for other people, better trained than ourselves, to make the meanings of our lives.”
- Provisional self-esteem. The lesson of report cards, grades and tests is that children should not trust themselves or their parents but should rely on the evaluation of certified officials. People need to be told what they are worth.
- One can’t hide. Surveillance is an ancient imperative, espoused by certain influential thinkers [such as Plato, Augustine, Calvin, Bacon, and Hobbes]. All these childless men…discovered the same thing: children must be closely watched if you want to keep a society under tight central control.

TECHNICAL FIELD[0001] The present invention relates to devices and methods for protection against exposure to electromagnetic radiation and more specifically to a stand alone device that generates protective frequencies by inducing the oscillation of a polymer at frequencies that counter adverse effects associated with electromagnetic radiation.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0002] Every operating electrical and electronic device emits electromagnetic radiation (EMR). The power of this emission varies depending on the size and electrical strength of the device and the electrical current it carries. High voltage power lines are significant emitters, and their field strength is sufficiently high to cause adverse effects on humans, animals and plants even hundreds of feet away. Smaller devices, such as computers, television sets, cellular phones and microwaves, emit lesser quantities of EMR, but the effect on humans can still be significant because people are in much closer proximity to such devices.[0003] Adverse effects on the health of humans that have been reported as attributable to long-term EMR exposure include occurrence of certain cancers, multiple sclerosis, headache, and sleep disruption, impairment of short term memory, autism, and significant increases in the frequency of seizures in epileptic children. Reported adverse effects on animals have included stillbirths of young and reduction of milk production in cattle.[0004] Although the effects of electromagnetic radiation on human health are not always easily quantifiable it is the desire of many prudent people to eliminate or reduce their exposure to EMR. There exist various methods of protecting from EMR that rely on reducing the magnitude (or strength) of the radiation that enters human body. Most commonly these utilize some sort of protective shield that enclosures the emitting apparatus hereby reducing the energy that is radiated by the EMR emitting device. Alternative approach is disclosed by Smirnov (U.S. Pat. No. 6,369,399), which describes an EMR shielding material that is composed of an electromagnetic radiation optimum neutralized polymer (MRET-Shield). MRET-Shield material does not reduce the power of electromagnetic fields. It "shields" the cellular structures of the body against the harmful biological effects of EMR. The radiation is still entering the body but the neutralizing effect of MRETShield material reduces the adverse effects associated with exposure. However, MRET-Shield required the design of a protective shell that encloses the EMR emitting device. While personal communications devices, such as cell phone or Blackberry, can be easily adapted to fit into such protective shell as a part of their design, enclosing larger electric appliances (inter alia personal computers, game consoles) is often impractical. Further, replacement of current EMR sources such as power lines would be cost prohibitive. Therefore, there remains a need to protect against EMR emitted from devices that do not provide a protective shell.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION[0005] The present invention addresses deficiencies in current methods for the protection against electromagnetic radiation and provides related benefits. In one aspect of the present invention a device for protecting a subj ect against exposure to electromagnetic radiation emitted from a remote source is provided. The device includes a housing, a solenoid operably connected to a driver and a polymer. The solenoid generates incident radiation which results in the polymer emitting electromagnetic oscillations at frequencies that counter adverse effects associated with the subject's exposure to the electromagnetic radiation. In one embodiment, the polymer includes a polar matrix, an oxidated hydrocarbon emulsifier, a galvanic salt, a dye or stain, and a polysaccharide. The solenoid is provided in various configurations. In some embodiments, the solenoid includes a two frequency mode that generates at least one carrier frequency of incident radiation. In other embodiments, the solenoid includes a two frequency mode that generates two carrier frequencies of incident radiation, wherein the carrier frequencies are at higher frequencies than the oscillation frequencies. Carrier frequencies may independently or collectively induce oscillation of the polymer materials. In some embodiments, the solenoid is positioned circumferentially around an inner cylinder that houses the polymer.[0006] The device of the present invention will have particular utility for the protection against radiation emitted from electronic devices such as a computer, a computer peripheral, a cellular telephone, a television, an audio system, a household appliance, and the like. Further, the device may protect against any intentional or unintentional sources of electromagnetic radiation with Effective Radiation Power (ERP) limited in compliance with FCC regulations. [0007] In another aspect of the invention, methods of protecting a subject against exposure to electromagnetic radiation from a remote source are provided. The methods include providing a device as provided by the present disclosure within an effective radius of the subject, and operating the device, such as by activating the solenoid driver. In some embodiments, the device is positioned within a same room as the subject. In other embodiments the device is placed from about five feet to about twenty feet from the subject. In other embodiments, a plurality of devices is provided within a plurality of locations.

KMO talks with Daniel Krotz about the paradox of people who love their small towns but tell their children that they have to leave those small towns in order to "make something of themselves." Can liberal urbanites and red state evangelicals find common ground, and have banks become the new churches in small towns? Is a hundred years a long time? Given that children born today may well be alive a hundred years from now, how much comfort should we take in claims that we have a hundred years of natural gas reserves left to fuel industrial society?

Background:
Nu people are the least populous ethnic group in Yunnan Province of China and most are distributed in Gongshan County, NW Yunnan. Animal production plays an important role in Nu livelihoods and the Nu people have abundant traditional knowledge of animal management and ethnoveterinary practices. This study documents the animal diseases, ethnoveterinary plant remedies and related traditional knowledge in three Nu villages of Gongshan County.
Methods:
This study was carried out in three Nu villages of Gongshan County between July 2009 and February 2010. Data was obtained through the use of semi-structured questionnaires, field observation and PRA tools. A total of 60 Nu respondents (34 men and 26 women) provided information on animal ailments and ethnoveterinary plant medicines used for Nu livestock production. Information on the traditional ethnoveterinary medicine knowledge and choice of treatment providers was also obtained.
Results:
Thirty-five animal conditions were identified in the surveyed area. The major and most common animal diseases among livestock were skin conditions, diarrhea, heat, fevers, colds, and parasites. Most ailments occurred between June and August. The ethnoveterinary medicinal use of 45 plant species was documented. Most of the medicinal species (86.7%) were collected from the wild. The most frequently used plant parts were whole plants (35.6%), followed by roots (22.2%). The most important medicinal plant species were Saussurea costus (Falc.) Lipech. (UV=0.67), Senecio scandens Buch.-Ham.ex D.Don (UV=0.67), Plantago depressa Willd. (UV=0.63), Rubus corchorifolius L. f. (UV=0.62), Bupleurum yunnanense Franch. (UV=0.60), and Polygonum paleaceum Wall. (UV=0.60). Animal diseases treated with the highest number of ethnoveterinary plant remedies were diarrhea (16 plant species), heat, fever, colds (11 plant species), retained afterbirth (11 plant species), and skin conditions and sores (11 plant species). Many Nu villagers (52%) considered traditional remedies as their first choice of animal disease treatment. Traditional ethnoveterinary knowledge was related to the local social-cultural characteristics of Nu people and communities.
Conclusion:
Animal production plays an important role in Nu culture and livelihoods, and the Nu ethnic group has abundant traditional knowledge about animal production and ethnoveterinary plant remedies. This traditional knowledge faces the risk of disappearing due to increasing modern veterinary medicine extension, livelihood changes and environment degradation. Animal diseases are a major constraint in livestock production in Nu villages. Thus, some strategies and measures should be adopted in the future, such as further research on Nu culture and livelihoods, community-based validation of ethnoveterinary medicine and broad network building and knowledge sharing.

Chunyi Lin's latest podcast!!
Chunyi Lin starts at 32 minutes into the podcast.... focused on "Edgewalkers" --
Coincidentally I was just listening to Phil Imbrogno on Don Ecker's Dark Matters podcast -- Imbrogno's latest research argues UFOs, etc. are from the Jinn -- a spirit plasma vortex
Imbrogno then argues the military discovered this plasma spirit realm using high frequency electromagnetic experiments....
Imbrogno's Vengeful Djinn is published out of my hometown -- Twin Cities Minnesota available next spring.
This groundbreaking book presents the findings of Rosemary Ellen Guiley and Philip J. Imbrogno's investigation into the powerful and mysterious interdimensional beings known as djinn or genies. It reveals what the djinn are, where they can be found—and their hidden agenda against the human race.
Working with material compiled from a variety of sources—including their own case files, Middle Eastern lore, the Qur'an, teachings of Islamic scholars, and the latest theories in quantum physics—the authors explore the relationship between the Djinn, demons, fairies, shadow people, and extraterrestrials. They offer eyewitness accounts of modern human encounters with the djinn and reveal the location of interdimensional entry points in North America.
More on Imbrogno's Djinn research * Case in point, we can't see them until they want to be seen.
* They can pass through walls and other solid objects. Very often when UFOs are sighted, other paranormal events happen, such as mystery animals and poltergeist activity. This would seen to indicate that some kind of portal is opening between out reality and theirs.
* Often people who have encounters with "grays" report that these beings are not showing their true self, but instead showing what we want to see. In one case the person reported that the being told them when asked why they make themselves look like "aliens" "if we showed our true appearance, people would panic". Djinn are shape shifters.
* The Djinn were made from smokeless fire. Mr. Imbrogno believes that would be plasma, which is the forth state of matter, and right between energy (angles, made from "light") and matter, or us, made from clay.
* The Djinn were here on Earth before us, and want to be back here on Earth. Many people who have had alien encounters report that the "aliens" seem to be interested in making hybrids that may be living here amongst us.
* Every person is assigned a special jinn to them, also called a qareen. This would match up with people having encounters with strange beings since a young age, and throughout their lives. This matches my experiences. The qareen are supposed to whisper things to you. Since the Djinn can be good or bad, I think people's experiences with "guardian angels" or "spirit guides" might be these qareen. And remember, another name for Djinn is Genie, or Genius. So this being telling me information was my Genius, or Djinn.
Imbrogno does the Djinn on coasttocoastam
This academic book on "Wombs and Alien Spirits" corroborates Imbrogno on Djinn as "smokeless fire" -- and the various types of DjinnNOW THIS IS FASCINATING!!Sightings peaked not on the full moon or the new moon but two to three days after the new and full moon. Not on the new moon and full moon itself. But the interesting part of that data is that it didn’t matter if it was a new moon or a full moon, the peak occurred between two and three days, or two and a half days I’d say, after the new and the full moon. So you have a definite peak there indicating that the lunar phase did have an affect on the number of sightings. That was an interesting part of the data.
Anyway who has read my rants online knows that I explicitly state that the moon energy is strongest three days before and after the full moon -- not ON the full moon!!
Here's Imbrogno saying that the UFO sightings peak 3 days before or after the full moon -- but not ON the full moon!!Well Imbrogno is buddies with Bud Hopkins -- still Imbrogno actually clued Bud into alien abductions, not the other way around....According to Mr. Phil Imbrogno, during the research that led to the writing of "NIGHT SIEGE The Hudson Valley UFO Sightings" by Dr. J. Allen Hynek, Philip Imbrogno, and Bob Pratt, Imbrogno has stated that on several occasions, Hynek specified that he wanted no mention of the dozens of human abductions that they had already uncovered at that time, to be mentioned in the book. Hynek was afraid of the adverse publicity if word of this aspect leaked out to the public. After Hyneks death, Imbrogno stated publicly on Compuserve and other public forums, facts of abductions, animal mutilations, and EVEN several cases of mysterious deaths of humans, that he indicated COULD possibly be linked to the UFO Phenomenon.
Here George P. Hansen takes apart a Budd Hopkins "Multiple Witness" alien abduction claimWe believe that other motivating factors and concepts provide a better explanation and framework for understanding these seemingly bizarre actions. We would suggest that perhaps, at some semiconscious level, these individuals do not really believe their UFO investigations to be fully engaged with the "real world." Rather, their behavior and statements seem more consistent with something like fantasy role playing, perhaps akin to the game Dungeons and Dragons (D & D).
Both ufology and D & D allow direct, immediate involvement with powerful "other-world" beings and mythological motifs. Both endeavors have been known to overtake (possess?) the participants, though only occasionally to their detriment. Most "players" are able to successfully detach themselves from involvement, but occasionally the "game" becomes obsessive and interferes with "real-world" pursuits. This "role playing" taps archetypal images that hold great psychological power. The archetypes can become immensely attractive, even addictive, to those playing the game.

The third episode of Evolver the Podcast is about Magic and the Occult and includes interviews with Gary Lachman, Baza Novic and Raymond Wiley. Although magic is a very broad subject, for the purposes of this podcast it is loosely defined as a system of belief that is guided, played with, and used to move towards specific outcomes in our lives. Magic is that which uses belief as a tool, symbols as a focus, and thought as a playground.

Darkness pulls into darkness in an evolving revolution of the mind rolling away and back into itself—with nothing to grasp at and nothing to say. The wheel keeps on turning. Darkness in the form of pure light at the rise and fall of each day.
And the train rose from the underground and caught the setting sun atop the risen platform. I was leaning on the sub car's door even though a sticker across from me told me it might not be a good idea. I looked over at the man whose stare I could sense in the corner of my eye. He shook his head in disgust, his eyes never leaving me. He sighed after examining me, Nikes, jeans, a cross hatched Burberry replica dress shirt, dark enough glasses to hide my glossy eyes. Upon looking at me, he revealed anger and frustration under his tensing brow. There was just something about me that made him look as though he had thrown up in his mouth and was straining to somehow suck it back down—like out of a straw. He clearly did not like me. I smiled and let out a slight chuckle. All it took was that chuckle to make him look back down, full with a frown, at his blackberry.
“Look how you have
draagged me down.”
Never.
Although I did want to spit at his feet. Squeeze down on his throat as tight as my grinding teeth and lift him off his seat and say something like fuck you, or who the hell are you?, or take off the tie you goddamn' white middle aged monkey, or I will kill you. I didn't though. I smiled, then began to recite the poetry over and again in my mind as
the train ducked and swayed,
grinded around every curve, skating along on steel waves over the city.
Then the man was gone. With my task at hand I no longer was bothered about whatever the hell that ignorant man was thinking. I never was bothered because I didn't allow enough time to care. He doesn't know shit about the foundations of my soul--
so
he can go right on to hell with those accusations.
After all, what the hell is his judgment to me?
If people are concerned over how others perceive them then how will those individuals ever care for themselves? An order of logic is lost to a dishonored ego—and one forgets what is truly important.
Instead of focusing on experience and enjoying the one true inarguable gift of life, people get caught staring not from the mirror that reflects the world but at the mirror that others uphold. People begin to look closer at themselves through another's lens and begin to agree with the microscopic portrayal. From this agreement one loses sense of self and begins to pick and stress over every flaw found in the perception of others.
If one is true to self and content with their position—being in the only true class that exists—alive—then never should they question their tastes at another's expense. Never shall they doubt the duty of the soul. Never shall they stray from their own path. Never shall.
Never shall.
Even though the man and I were in the same closed area his scrutiny and lack of understanding had no affect on my own ego, or consideration for that matter.
Or my being.
__________So I laughed.
I'm sure that sort of negativity and lack of forsight would get that guy where he was going.
But I have no intention in following him

There is a nail in my foot.
No, there is a nail in my fucking foot!
Not anymore but I can still feel that mother fucking nail piercing the tendon and denting the bone.
Every time I look down I expect a red chunky nail sticking through, trying to figure out
whether the lumps are pieces of my flesh or rust clumps.
All the way to the goddamn bone. And all the while theres this pounding throb up my left side and a violent pressure in my head
similar to a sumo wrestler suffocating your skull with all his weight
atop a pillow from an airplane—
from the inside.
Then there's this deep stabbing digging into the ball of my foot—sending the nerves in my waist into a fuckin' frenzy like every string of a guitar bursting from a constant monstrous strum.
Fuck! The pain, the bastard agony.
Moans let off into a sleepless night.
A test of the soul is what you behold. Or I behold. Or this book beholds. Or this pain upholds.
My left foot and that fucking nail.
The moment of impact on repeat in my mind, sense memory engulfing my entire being with a melting pain.
Breaking me down I scream out loud,
brooms are pounded on the upstair's ground.
A howl escapes my mouth—
Owwwwhh.
Fuck my face, Jesus Christ, ohhh—lord why must you be so cruel.
What God, what have I done to you.
Ohhohohh, something, someone, please. Please just make it stop.
Why won't it stop. Why won't someone come...and
make it stop.
Words like excruciating, multiple combusting explosions, butt fuck, and Ranchero never once crossed my mind.
Only that nail. That fucking nail occupied my sighs.
I was reduced to a grumble, a
cursing of the owner of the house that left his white plastic crosshatched fence, nails upturned, like a trap to a bear who's about to head home from his last day of work just hoping, hoping for some porridge.
That's right, his last damn day on the job he looked so forward to leaving.
Aww, poor bear. NO – fuck the bear! Fuck the bear for stepping on the three inch nail. Fuck the owner for turning it up. Fuck god for letting it happen. Fuuuuuuuck!
Fuck.
Who else can I blame? Who else can I hate in order to fight against an accidental pain?
Then, I breathe.
The nail pushes through.
I breathe.
My teeth grind with a surging groan.
Calmugghh.
No matter what I do,
it returns.

“It used to be so simple.”
The mind is still tired but the body must rise against her will.
Elbows and knees and every conceivable joint
ache from sleeping on the hard wood floor.
“I dunno, I just feel so far away.”
The sun shines dim through the red brick lined windows of the Opera House building. The street is still—passerbies are silent with their steps. The world seems to be in some other place. The walls unwilling to let her just be within her environment, the concrete streets an extension of her unnatural place within this space. Yet, she knows she is natural. But, now she has no time to be. Now, she had to go. Before she could be wild like one should be, like one is, before she could belt her voice against the bricks of a Brooklyn bar—each brick containing an hour of sacrifice—she has to do what she has to do in order to eat, in order to be inside on a rainy day, in order to live unnaturally so that she could afford her freedom when the street lights shine.
She puts on her uniform and walks to work. Feeling empty. Feeling low. Feeling the world was no place for a free soul to grow. She taps her side with her hands. Her brow curling in with the harmonies rolling in her head. The beats never leave.
“No wonder people are so droned out.”
She walks on, against her desires. How she would love to sprint in the opposite direction, but no. She has bills to pay. She enters the restaurant and the next few hours blur together. A routine sets in and she goes through the motions. A memorized calculation of which customer needs what service. She counts the time in intervals of five minutes—even if she felt an hour went by, it was always five minutes. Time slows down when one wishes for the time to be gone. But this time wasn't entirely wasted. Ideas were born from ideas, rhythms are given a voice. She waits, with a hungry mindset—tired, yet hungry.
“What do you do about that? The paradigm. The whole fuckin' thing. It's very disturbing, it's disturbing behavior. ”
She changes back into her clothes and heads out to her destination. To where she belongs. Each block on the sidewalk produces a different tone from her drumming lips. She gets closer, humming all the while.
“There will be a way, there will be a way, things will fall into place.”
Meanwhile, the amps are plugged in, the guitars are tested. The drums begin to badap and tsst to feel where the volume of the boards needs to settle. The crowd begins to push forward. The crowd continues to grow. They dance while they wait to a DJ's song.
“We're gonna get there.”
She throws her hoodie over her hair, ducks her head down as she walks through the door. The band starts playing and the crowd gets down, flailing their arms and bobbing their heads. She hops on the stage and begins to rip the microphone with a cutting pull of her vocals. The pent up force of her voice trembles in the speakers, each word longed for, each bellow cared for.
“You wrestle—you fight. You fight for it.”
With victory in her hands in the form of a microphone, she is her complete self. She slays the monotonous day with this final act of bravery. The audience smiles in unison as they duck and jive, kick out their hips and dip their shoulders. We are the youth and we are one under the moon, dancing to the same beating drum. The drums that pump life into our days, the thump of the bass that becomes what we mean say. The keys trickling like worries falling away from a rusty drain. The voice, that lets you know that everything will be okay. We are the youth. We have something to share. We are all in this struggle together.
“I mean, we get it.”
With half closed eyes nearing the reaches of sleep she falls off the stage and the people catch her six feet above the ground. We carry her back to her sleeping spot, at the break of the coming week. We lower her gently onto the hard wood floor and slowly sneak away. She wakes up, her elbows and knees sore and weak. Knowing full and complete,
“That time is coming again.”

Fry’s tactic didn’t put Maynard at much serious risk. He never tried kicking Maynard to the body, and his punches got Maynard’s attention but caused no outward damage. “I think my ears are still buzzing from his first shot,” Maynard said later. “It opened my eyes to the fact that this was the most serious thing I had ever gotten into. I loved it, to tell the truth.”
But the tactic also erased Maynard’s only hope of knocking over Fry and taking the fight to him.
By the second round, Maynard was visibly frustrated, and growing tired, while each time he put his head down and charged on all fours, he was turned away or sidestepped. He was physically unable to grab, and had no other answer for chopping down Fry. Maynard was the bowling ball, but the pin was always moving.
“I was damned amazed. I didn’t know he was that quick,” said Fry. Still, he was able to stick to his strategy, even as the crowd, estimated at just less than 1,000, began chanting at him, “Wrestle, wrestle, wrestle.”

Giant Rings Around Galaxies Perplex Astronomers

Giant rings of ultraviolet light have been spotted around some ancient galaxies, sending some scientists reeling from the completely unexpected phenomenon.
The odd ultraviolet formations were spotted around several aged galaxies that astronomers had presumed to be astronomically dead – inactive, that is.
"We haven't seen anything quite like these rings before," said researcher Michael Rich at the University of California, Los Angeles, in a statement. "These beautiful and very unusual objects might be telling us something very important about the evolution of galaxies." [Photo of the UV rings around galaxies.]

www.TheGodMovie.comAstronomers observed the ultraviolet rings using two orbiting space observatories: NASA's Galaxy Evolution Explorer and Hubble Space Telescope. They studied 30 elliptical and lens-shaped "early" galaxies with strong UV emissions to determine why they – though ancient and having no visible signs of star formation – were still emitting such energetic light.
NASA announced the discovery this month. Details of the research appeared in the April 21 issue of the Astrophysical Journal.
Mystery rings in deep space
While young and lively galaxies have bluish hues from their active stars, older galaxies emit reddish collective starlight, NASA officials said in a statement. This reddish trait of the stars in the ancient galaxies allowed scientists to peg the ages of most of the stars at around 10 billion years old.
When astronomers studied the same galaxies with the Hubble Space Telescope, scientists discovered the source of the energetic look.
Three-quarters of the galaxies were surrounded by tremendous shining rings of ultraviolet light. A few halos were so large they could fit several galaxies the size of the Milky Way, and had ripples in their glow that stretched across 250,000 light-years.
How do they exist?
Researchers have yet to explain how some of these galaxies received the infusion of fresh, cold gas needed to produce this light. One explanation, though unlikely, suggests that collisions between the older galaxies and smaller ones lent the gas, new stars or ring-structure directly.
"To create a density shock wave that forms rings like those we've seen, a small galaxy has to hit a larger galaxy pretty much straight in the center," said the study's lead author, Samir Salim, an astronomer at Indiana University in Bloomington."You have to have a dead-on collision, and that's very uncommon."
Another idea is that the intergalactic medium, the thin material between galaxies, contributed gas and generated the rings with the help of bar-like structures at the center of some galaxies.
Ultimately, the striking observation proves that the cycle of galaxy birth and death has more to it than previously thought.
"In a galaxy's lifetime, it must make the transition from an active, star-forming galaxy to a quiescent galaxy that does not form stars," Salim said. "But it is possible this process goes the other way, too, and that old galaxies can be rejuvenated."
Like recurring seasons, it may be that barren galaxies can be awakened to breed stars again in another ultraviolet soaked "summer," NASA officials said.

Forty years ago the U.S.led backlash against the possibility of researching the potential beneficial effects of psychedelics and marijuana. Many studies had shown psychedelics to be useful for managing anxiety and depression in terminal cancer patients, for treating alcoholism and opiate addiction and for catalyzing spiritual/mystical experience. At the same time, marijuana was found to be effective for relieving nausea and vomiting often associated with cancer and chemotherapy. Now that restrictions on research with these agents are easing, a new generation of investigators is continuing these studies, as well as looking at MDMA for PTSD, psilocybin for OCD, and marijuana for MS, chronic pain, PTSD, and other conditions. Many other possible therapeutic applications of psychedelics and marijuana needs to be carefully designed and conducted to avoid another backlash from anti-drug zealots. Along with some great personal stories. He is always a pleasure to hear. I think you will enjoy it.

Yeah the Perv on taobums was chasing me around -- sucking off my energy for his own ejaculations. No one else on taobums could read this energy -- which means no one else on taobums has the third eye energy. Too bad! haha.
I've had this happen a few times online -- not really worth mentioning when or where -- but the main thing is to not willingly submit myself to Perv Attacks.
It takes about an hour of full lotus to reverse the Perv Attack -- the Perv has their electromagnetic energy focused on creating sex fluid -- so they suck off my energy to try to create sex fluid.
So then I have to sit in full lotus for at least an hour to reverse the sex fluid back into jing and then back into chi energy.
Luckily there's not that many pervs online -- mainly because the Perv is right brain dominant so they lack a lot of left brain critical thinking skills. So posting on forums limits the Perv level a bit.
If I'm in the inner city then the Perv Attacks increase in density -- low life males chasing after energy so they can ejaculate. Again no need to give details.
I will say though that if my jing energy is strong and I haven't converted it to chi yet then the Perv will stalk me, wanting me jing energy. Crazy but true.
Females have internal climaxes -- so it's not an issue -- mutual climaxes are unlimited with females. But Pervs have the goal of external ejaculation which is the opposite of transmitting chi out of the brain.
Unfortunately modern culture is increasingly focused on catering to the male's external ejaculations -- through porn, soft porn, etc.
As technology takes over people are increasing right brain dominant -- relying on videos and games instead of left brain critical thinking through reading, writing, math, etc.
This is basically the dopamine addiction -- There's prefrontal cortex dopamine but then there's limbic brain dopamine. Normally the prefrontal cortex will put a limit to the limbic brain dopamine.
But the dopamine addiction is based on the sex energy -- and then it goes into anything where there is pursuit of achieving a goal -- "winning" -- "scoring"
Gambling, cross word puzzles, scrabble, any card games, sports, any linear type story line with a linear ending -- all of civilization is based on dopamine addiction.
Most people can channel it into work to be "productive" for civilization -- whatever that means -- but then some turn into Pervs.
Qigong, yoga, shamanic healing is the opposite of the Perv -- it's sublimating the sex energy through the right brain and then purifying the sex energy into electromagnetic chi energy to transmit for healing.
The Perv will pretend to be a religious thinker -- because that's where all the jing energy is -- feeding off religious males! haha. So words don't matter when it comes to energy -- words are more lies than truth. The real issue is the intention behind the words -- and the intention is where the electromagnetic energy is stored in the body.
So if a person has their electromagnetic energy stored in their lower body it means they're going to hell -- as is the case with the Perv.
Most people have left brain dominance so they're "good" people in terms of civilization and so have an upper body electromagnetic focus and will go to heaven.
Opposites attract though so the more a person purifies their energy the more they will attract evil. It's just a matter of not "enabling" evil -- there has to be a constructive means of transforming the evil.
As Gurdjieff stated a Number one person has their center of gravity -- their electromagnetic essence -- stuck in their lower chakra due to trauma, sexual trauma, before puberty was finished.
Gurdjieff writes off Number one persons -- it's a hard-wired blockage -- not an emotional electrochemical blockage, but a deeper electromagnetic blockage. So it takes a Number 5 person to heal a Number 1 person -- the number 5 has their third eye fully open.
Anyway I'm always surprised that other people can't read perv energy -- even though online pervs are rare I try to be nice about it -- I feel sorry for pervs since they can't help their energy blockage status. But, at the same time, I'm not going to enable a perv -- or have them try to control my energy.
The best solution is just keep sitting in full lotus and eventually the damage from a Perv will be reversed and the electromagnetic essence will return back up to the third eye -- so that third eye transmissions can continue. The sex fluid will be reversed again back into jing and chi. Still the Perv Attack is a type of psychic rape --
Unfortunately since Western culture is repressed when a Perv activates someone's sex chakra the immediate reaction is for the person to be attracted to the Perv -- as the normal left brain dominant person wouldn't activate someone's sex chakra so easily. But, in fact, the Perv will just suck off a person's energy, making the person a sex slave. No matter what a person says -- it doesn't matter -- the electromagnetic essence is in the lower chakra focused on creating external male ejaculations.
A person will literally become a sex slave to a Perv if the perv gets their way. The perv will try to seduce a person to trick them into being in a compromising position -- and once a person gives their will power over to the perv then if the person tries to escape the Perv will get violent.
The sex energy of the perv will change into anger to make the sex slave afraid -- I call this the anger-sex-fear cycle. Unfortunately the modern male dynamic with females is just a variant of this perv attack but on a less severe scale. Modern marriage is an economic relationship and real love is rarely known in modern marriage.

If you read all the gut brain vagus nerve articles online via Michael Gershon's research -- they state that 90% of the body's serotonin is in the bowels and stomach -- with the rest in the brain. The vagus nerve is activated by serotonin and then activates the brain's serotonin. But all these articles state emphatically that there's no connection between the serotonin in the gut and the serotonin in the brain -- the brain has to make its own serotonin from tryptophan.
No so!!
Finally research showing that vagal nerve stimulation increases brain serotonin via the cerebrospinal serotonin
That's exactly what I've been claiming happens via yoga -- along with the gut bowels anaerobic bacteria! haha.

The relationships among 5-HT, 5-HIAA, NPY and clinical variables were statistically evaluated. There were no differences between severe major depressive disorder and controls in all parameters measured. In severe MDD group, significantly lower CSF 5-HT and higher 5-HT turnover (5-HIAA/5-HT) were found in female patients compared with male patients. The patients with intense suicidal intents and suicidal attempts had significantly lower CSF 5-HT compared to patients with nonsuicidal intents.
Yeah the Buddhist tradition of philosophy was based on population control. So one male of the family becomes a monk and then the monastery is supported by donations from the community or government.
Money is based on monism -- Money used to be complementary opposites -- solar was gold and lunar was silver.
Around 1000 BCE in India -- iron became more valuable than silver -- because iron is used to make weapons.
So the female lunar silver principle was removed -- and patriarchal iron was used along with solar gold.
Now mundane reality is the norm -- even for monasteries -- monks mainly focus on community rituals and education and service.
Meditation is not emphasized -- because of Westernization in the world -- population explosion from Western technology, etc. There is now scarce resources so the monks are now considered a way to help out the unemployed.
Thailand has a crisis of monasteries filled with gangs of unemployed who don't care about Buddhism, etc.
Mundane reality is all people know now -- while there are a few hermit yogis in the mountains of China, Himalayas, etc. who know real spiritual reality.
So Money is based on a mundane reality -- monism goes back to symmetry as geometry -- one to one correspondence of a symbol (money) with physical reality (geometry).
Meditation is based on listening -- the forest cultures were not visually dominant but used listening as the main perception.
Civilization is the spread of desertification as Solar technology -- iron, silica.
I call this "natural resonance racemization" -- I have a blog book on it http://naturalresonancerevolution.blogspot.com -- "Deep Disharmony" -- it's just a wild writing style.
Basically philosophy is right brain dominant while mundane reality is left brain dominant.
The left brain is disconnected from the lower body while the right brain processes emotions. If left brain logic uses inference of the I-thought then the focus of the brain switches over to the right brain, which then sublimates the lower body energy to increase the brain power and then the left brain goes back down to the right side of the heart.
So reality is based on complementary opposite resonance while science and mundane reality is based on symmetry -- one to one correspondence -- monism as money.
Money, since the Chinese created paper money, is enforced by the military !! That's what gives money value -- that otherwise the people will have their resources stolen by the military. So the U.S. relies on the military to enforce the value of the U.S. dollar. It's just looting, rape (sex slavery) and pillage, genocide, etc.
Marriage is also based on economics -- between 4 percent and 10 percent of children are not from the father -- the biological father is instead a stud. So the female marries for money and then the female in 1 out of 10 or one out of twenty kids -- the female has slept with a stud male. Why? Because that way the stud kid is raised in money. It makes sense in terms of evolution -- marry into money and then sleep with a stud so that the stud has money.
But where's the love? haha. Modern mundane reality is cut off from love because it's right brain dominant.
This goes back to the difference between chimpanzees and bonobo pygmy primates. We have a common ancestor -- homo sapiens, chimps and bonobos. Humans are a hybrid of chimps and bonobos. The chimps have warfare and the chimps rape the female chimps. The chimps are "practical" -- focused on increasing and protecting territory, providing food for the females and then getting free sex from the females -- the male chimps "own" the females - it's practical but it's not love. The bonobo males have sex all the time but the bonobo males rarely ejaculate!! Male scientists say the bonobo males don't ejaculate because they must maintain their aggressiveness!! This is because modern males don't know the secret of the vagus nerve internal climaxes for males!! haha. So the Bushmen Khoisan humans, the dominant human culture, trained all the men to rarely ejaculate -- and the culture was based on love and healing energy.
So the bonobo culture is the opposite of modern culture -- it's radical and dangerous but it's also the secret to peace and love.

Nebula's Mysterious Halo Stumps Astronomers

A NEW image of a little-known nebula taken from the Hubble Space Telescope has astronomers wondering what's lighting it up.
NASA has released an image of IRAS 05437+2502, or "Ira's Ghost", after it was snapped by Hubble as a "bonus target" – part of a list of things for Hubble to do when it's got spare time.
Ira's Ghost was first discovered in 1983 and sits within our own galaxy in the constellation Taurus. It's known as a "reflection nebula" – a cloud of gas lit up by a light source – as opposed to an "emission nebula" which is lit up from within.
What makes this nebula unusual, apart from the fact it's both stunning and spooky, is there's so far no evidence of a light source.
Nebula's Mysterious Halo Stumps Astronomers
Particularly one of the magnitude that has lit up the tip of one of its highest clouds with a blazing, boomerang-shaped halo.
The best explanation scientists have come up with so far is that Ira's Ghost was once visited by a high-velocity star spat out by its cluster and passing through at 200,000km/h.
However, given it's a "bonus target", they're not going to spend a lot of time worrying about it.
For now, it's just another spectacular, mysterious flashpoint in the universe for us to wonder about.
IT IS NOT A MYSTERY!!!!!!!!!!

It’s called a “reflection nebula,” in which “dusty gas scatters the light from nearby, Trifid-born stars.” This explanation was reasonable, or at least familiar, when reflection was the only mechanism known for producing polarized light that had a spectrum similar to nearby stars. Later, the invention of the synchrotron contributed another possibility: blue polarized emissions of field-aligned electric currents twisting along magnetic fields.
The dark filaments that divide the nebula into thirds, hence giving it its name, Trifid, are called “gases and dust.” They will “collapse and form new stars” due to “gravity’s inexorable attraction.” This twinkle of explanation is entirely pretense. It’s contradicted not only by observations but also by traditional theory itself: Clouds of gas can collapse only if they have no angular momentum and no magnetism. However, for “some unknown reason,” all such clouds do have angular momentum and magnetism, usually a lot. As one astronomer has commented, “Astronomy has a spin problem.”
This is not a problem when the electrical properties of plasma are recognized: Birkeland currents generate spin, and the z-pinch effect is efficient at coalescing matter into filaments, disks, and dense spherules. One plasma physicist has called Birkeland currents the “vacuum cleaners of space.”

FIREBALL ON JUPITER: On August 20th at 18:22 UT, amateur astronomer Masayuki Tachikawa of Kumamoto city, Japan, video-recorded an apparent impact on Jupiter. Click on the image to view a movie of the fireball:

This is the third time in only 13 months that amateur astronomers have detected signs of impact on Jupiter. The earlier events occured on July 19, 2009, and June 3, 2010. Jupiter is getting hit more often than conventional wisdom would suggest, leading many researchers to call for a global network of telescopes to monitor Jupiter 24/7 and measure the impact rate.
"Like the event of June 3rd, this fireball did not produce any visible debris," notes John Rogers, director of the British Astronomical Association's Jupiter section. "Here are some hi-resolution images taken 1-2 rotations before and 1-2 rotations after the event. As the observers commented, there was no visible mark (not in RGB, nor UV, nor methane), post-impact. Dark brown spots on the North Equatorial Belt were already there before the fireball."
